Seat click? On brand new 13...

Hey everyone. Hope you all had a nice weekend. Quick question/statement I was hoping to get some feedback on. I have a brand new 13 limited. She barely has 1300 miles on her. I've noticed this clicking noise almost. Hard to describe its a slight click it sounds like the seat. I've adjusted the seat setting a bit and nothing. Only happens once in a while when I accelerate quickly or take a sharp turn. Was just wondering if I'm just being over sensitive or if anyone else has noticed this?

Do a search for "lumbar support making noise". I think there is a TSB on that.

There is...but this was an issue very early on and they released a new part to 'fix' the problem. I had my done and no more issues, along with many others. The new part would be used during any new production, and this goes waaaay back. Who knows, maybe they changed the design yet again and introduced a new problem.

If I were you I would still go and request them to fix the seat on goodwill/warranty. Take the TSB if it describes what you are experiencing anyways. Most good dealers would do that.

if it is the lumbar you will "FEEL" it popping (crunching) in your back as you shift in the seat.... it is very pronounced. Just had mine replaced

Not my issue...

Hey guys, thanks for the feedback, however, this is not the issue I am experiencing. Mine seems to be coming from the bottom/base of the seat. I have tried to play with the seat adjustment, looked under it to see if something was there or blocking in. I can feel it on my feet on the floor when it pops.

I do have the auto running boards... Could it be something to do with those and it sounds like the seat but it is really underneath?

Firstly I would try tightening the seat bolts, seeing as your car is new it's not unheard of for the bolts to be a little loose. If that does not work, maybe get under her and ask someone to get in and out of the car to see if it is the auto running boards.
Also take it to the dealers and try and replicate the sound with a tech onboard, ask if you can test drive another runner see if you get the same noise in that one.

I know exactly what your talking about I have the same issue with my 2012 limited. I have about 15,000mi on it and started hearing that a few months back. It only happens at certain times when stopping, accelerating, or turning and I can feel it in my feet as well. I have tried to duplicate the sound by moving around quickly in the seat but I can't. I did take my truck in recently and asked them to take a look, I also had to get the drivers side switch replaced so I thought that may be that was relevant to the noise. I got my truck back after repairs and they said the seat was fine. On my way home I heard the same click noise. I plan on taking my truck back in but it won't be for another two weeks as I will be on vacation. If you get this figured out please please let me know as it is driving me crazy, I will also let you know how my next trip to the dealership goes.

One other thing to note, I noticed that when adjusting the seat back, if it sort of stutters when it reaches full adjustment, the clicking will happen. If it adjusts all the way back and there is no stutter, it generally does not happen. The real problem for me is it is so intermittent that I am not sure it can be replicated when I want it to be.

I have tried and tried to replicate the sound and I can't. I took my truck to Toyota to have them look at it. They called me and said there were a few tools in my door that were causing the noise and that it didn't happen after being removed. I picked up my truck and on my way home I still had the clicking noise even without any tools. I am going to take it back in this week, I will keep you posted. how annoying.

I have this as well. I hear the occasional click but can't replicate it though my seat does shudder as it moves fully to the rear as far as it would go. I was going to try and get under there this weekend because it felt like the seat bolts were loose. No idea why the shuddering though.
