Seattle area 4Runner Meet Up anyone?

Alright.... now, we are really rolling with all this conversation. I don't know about all you peeps, but I'm gettin super excited! :banana:

I know I've seen it mentioned on some forum post before, but maybe we should now organize some of this on Facebook? If we don't have an existing NW club available, can someone start up a new one?

Once that's going, we can list some of these "events" or dates on a calendar, send out invites, and then we can get an idea of who's going, or how many people are going on whatever dates. Plus, obviously, we will have all the location, date and time info as well. And maps.

I can't make the 10/4 date. But, I can make the 11/22 date. I do anticipate going on some run sometime before 11/22, either with just my family or with anyone I can round up. No one says that these larger 10/4 and 11/22 dates have to be the only dates. We can also do 2 or 3 or 4 vehicle runs here and there too. And geographically, I see 4 key areas: Olympics, Cascades (Mountain Loop), Central Washington (Cle Elum area), and Rainier area.

See, with Tahuya, seems like a great, desirable area to head to. But, it's just less feasible for me for example. (I live in Everett, usually do stuff with the wife and 2 year old.... so, I don't like to be too far out, and don't prefer all day trips). I however, do want to meet local people in the Seattle/Bellevue to Everett/Marysville area and wheel around Mountain Loop area or any other areas that are local within about an hour's drive.

Hey I live in everett as well and I was just saying the exact same thing about the trip cause I'm married n also have a 2 yr old.
 
There's a pacific NW 4Runner Facebook Page. I think it may just be NW 4Runner. Can post something there. I'm not super active on Facebook anymore though
 
Alright, so October 10th, are we meeting straight there, or do people, for instance, on the East Side want to meet up in Issaquah then head over, or do we all want to meet somewhere first then make our way over?

This is almost always the case with those groups. If we make one it needs to be PRIVATE and the people joining should be screened and only allowed access either through a vouch from a member, or a common group concensus.

May sound like me trying to be an a-hole, but I am a member of a group like this and it has been a STRONG group of local dudes for about 5 years now.

While I would love to accommodate everyone’s date change request, the probability of being able to successfully accomplish that is slim. There will always be one of us left out sadly. But, all good if you can’t make this round, we hope you can make the 22 NOV one.

I just through that date 4 OCT out there, because of all the “talk” and no “action” . Seems that there are 5-6 committed to go on that date and a few guys that are fairly sure they will make it.

From what I have read, chances are that recovery gear is not needed. There is a guy who says he has a winch, and Keith has some recovery straps. So between all of us we should have most needs covered. Come on with us on 4 OCT. We’ll meet at the Edmonds-Kingston Ferry.

I’m up there with you in Lynnwood and another guy is up in Lake Stevens. It is a bit of a hike for us. But seems like a great place to go, and friendly to so many stock 4Runners. I have a few Saturdays free if you want to go out up north, too. Mountain Loop and the Fire Service Roads off of Cascade Loop on hy2 are not bad and about 1hour or so away. Walker Valley ORV is about 1hr20min give or take. Tahuya is really not that much further. Like another member stated, 30min boat ride and 45min drive… Not too bad. But I don’t mind traveling for some fun. All for those areas, Rainier and Cle Elum.

4 OCT not 10 OCT is the date I posted a few pages back. 10am meet time at the park. From the post it seems those of us north of Shoreline are taking the Edmonds Ferry across.

I have no vested interest either way. But, I will say that I was in a vanpool and in order to be accepted you have to have references. We like it drama free and it was great.


I'll through together a running list of YES and MAYBE folks in another post with the dates, time and location as a reminder. With all the alternate dates out there, don't want people to be unsure of the actual date since… 4 OCT 14 @ 1000.

And hence why I wanted to ask. You don't sound like an A-hole at all. I'd rather not hang out with anyone who is immature, reckless, disrespectful to others and the trails. I'm not into someone who carries guns, BUT is unsafe or untrained with said guns. I don't mind an age group of 20-50....i could care less about ages. And you know what, I'd love to know people that enjoy time with their families. Kids are great.

So, maybe someone sets up a FB page that's Washington based? Or I dunno, does anyone have a suggestion other than FB? Like Google based, etc. This thread is starting to really pick up and it's taking some time to keep up with it all. I'm actually using a pencil and paper! :shocked:

Not a bad idea to get things better organized. I've not used FB since I finished my undergrad back in 2003. I'm sure it has changed quite a bit in the last decade as now it's linked to 1 in 5 divorces in the US. Is MySpace still a thing? Google- are you referring to their Google+? One downside is with that you probably have to have a google email account.

I wonder why this forum does not have a better setup. I know there are the individual locations, such as Pacific NW section. But, not a way to keep things organized like someone said with a calendar of events type thing.

Hello All!!

I am glad to see we have started a NW thread! Unfortunately I will not be able to make that weekend as that is the final weekend before I get hitched! November sounds like a better time for me and I look forward to seeing everyone around that time! I will subscribe to this thread to make sure I keep in touch and know what is going on!

Hey Grimlock!

I work first shift at Boeing on the Flightline. I am the Silver 4Runner with the Chrome Rims. It is hell trying to get out of Boeing at shift's end! I see A LOT of 5th Gens now and wonder where they heck they came from. I did not see any until after I got mine last year in April, then all of a sudden they are everywhere at Boeing..lol! A few are decked out nicely and look like they can tear up a trail!
