Seattle area 4Runner Meet Up anyone?

We did not make it in to Straddline; the lady when we got there was a bit of a bit@h!!! Kept threatening to not pull us out if we got stuck and stated several time that our vehicles were not equipped for what they had and that they were too clean. She did, for some reason told us several times that she pays the bills...
After a high level brainstorm session in the parking lot between the four of us, we decided to go up to Capitol Forest. Which, thankfully was right behind the gate to Straddline.
The forest was filled with 100s of miles of forest service roads, so most of what we did was over-landing, with the exception of start of the trip, and middle when we slid down a red clay hill about 150 yards. Shortly after that [MENTION=107389]Special-k[/MENTION] and I attempted to climb a red clay little hill- not gone well. [MENTION=74558]twchapel311[/MENTION] went slightly more of the left and was able to get traction in his 3rd gen, when Kris and I were unable. Our initial goal was for Fuzzy Top, but we could not find it and our micro print maps got a bit confusing. I will say that the trails are well marked.
Seemed everyone had a blast nonetheless. Certainly no hard core stuff, just lots of fast driving up and down hills, around bends and through lots of water/mud puddles.

Damn man sorry. I had no service about 90% of the time. Should of sent a text... Those would come in intermittently when service was gained.

damn looks like you guys had a whole lot of fun. wish we could have gone but my hands were way more needed at home. sucks the lady was such a ..... was that the same lady you talked to before? cant wait for the next outing i did get some 35's under my 2nd gen with minimal cutting on my stock suspension but im pulling them back off not enough room to take them offroad but they looked nice :roadkill:

Guy over on Tacoma World makes them. They are called Prinsu Design.

He makes them mainly for Tacoma's, mine is the first 4Runner rack he's done. Which is why I was able to justify the 4 month wait time. But I got it and tried to put it on, and he didn't supply the right hardware for one, but also even if I was able to mount it on, I would be satisfied with how it was mounted. He is making some changes to it, and hopefully I'll be able to get it on sometime this year.
It is truly a beautiful rack, and an amazing concept. Just got to get it to fit now.

Yeah man, from what I have heard Straddleline is not meant for the style of offroading the majority of us are into.
More oriented toward the big jacked up mud slingers (as busmup posted in his video) and dirt bikes/quads.
I am glad you guy were still able to get out into Capital Forest and do some cruising. That's a cool area, just not TOO much for scenery other than trees. Lots of trees.
I should get my suspension back in the next couple of days... Harvesting monster bulls out in Eastern Oregon this weekend, but am back in action after that.

It was a different lady. I call her Holly, no idea what her name was. Whatever it was, she was terrible and I will forever badmouth that place (customer service) until the day I die a fat, happy man.
I would have liked to have drive around their park, but wasn't going to pay 15bucks for a scouting mission. Cap Forest was cool, and I did enjoy it. We would have just gone to Tahuya again, but it was too far from where we were. I do want to go here again. So many trails we did not have time to explore. I bet it's a fun kind of interesting with all the recent rain. However, snowboard season is around the corner, so most of my time off will be towards that.
What's going on with your suspension?

Tahuya is cool when it's wet, but there are some DEEP patches of water. Made me pucker a bit.
You snowboard? If you're interested, my wife and I try to go every weekend...
My suspension is being rebuilt... Ride was suffering, hopefully this fixes it.

well hopefully by the next time that we all go to straddleline ill have the big runner running than we will not need them to pull us out :eyebrows: or we bring our own recovery vehicle of some sorts ive got some buddies with some big trucks

Yeah, Tahuya sounds fun wet. I'll avoide the deep water stuff.
I do board. I have a weekday pass to Stevens. Where do y'all go up? As of 1Nov I go back to operations and will no longer have weekends off... For now. So will likely go boarding mid week during my furloughs. However, I'm not opposed to taking a weekend off to go up every now and again. Let me know too if you ever try to make it up during midweek.
I'll never step foot in to, let alone give money to Straddline. I don't care for places that give bad customer service and that lady, Holly, put a bad taste in my mouth. Blacklisted!!! However, I'd happily go to cap forest or Tahuya again.
