Seattle Area Maintenance and Meet

it was an awesome trip!!! I only thought I was going to die once(see pic of Sean winching me up) There are trails galore out there, and they are actually pretty tame. There was a guy with a stock base model Tacoma and he was braffing the shit out of that thing! We need to get a good group together and do this again.

I'm out in spanaway, toward roy area. Yeah if you're free that would be cool. Probably going to be doing it sometime during the week though since I'm not currently working. My dad will be there to help and he has 40+ years experience haha, I was just wondering if there was any tips to make it easier. (i.e. open the hatch because it makes the back of the truck lighter, or something)

Here are a few tips off the top of my head (I'm sure some of the others could chime in as well)

-make sure to use jack stands and double check that it is in park and the parking brake is on. Block the front wheels when doing the rear.

-If you have trouble getting the fronts in, put the bottle jack upside down on the opposite a-arm and push it down.

-remove the spare tire to give more space.

-Remove the attachment points for the rear parking brake to give it room to hang. As we as (I know I said otherwise earlier) release the rear parking brake when the rear is in the air to release the tension in it.

-If you're having trouble with getting the rear shocks out, drill a hole through the upper sheath, shove a long phillips through them and twist.

That's all I can think of now, if anything else pops up I'll let you know. Keep me posted on when you do it. It will be hard for me to get down there during the week, but you never know.

Looks like a sweet trip! Sorry to miss out, but the waves were sweet!

Naches - August 24-25th
So - the next big camping/wheeling trip is Naches - August 24-25th. I'm also hoping to have some others from the TacomaWorld forum join.

Have you been up there before? Curious of the trail difficulty.

I have 3" of suspension lift, 33" Duratracs, and rear locker. If needed I could order sliders, but bumpers and winch do not make sense for me at this point...

Let me know... From what I read it sounds like a good little trip for my wife and I.

I've been up there before, but on a limited number of trails. I think you would be fine with your setup, but I do like your idea of getting sliders first. Do you have any extra skids as well? The locker will be awesome for a few of the spots I've seen

Sorry guys. I'm gonna miss out on this one too. Back on the coast for the last two weeks of August. Summers are always going to be a hard one for me. Too many other things higher on the list... :surfer:

You don't need to reply staying you won't be making it. We already assume you won't be anyway!

Never thought I would do this, but I put the runner up for trade on Craigslist today. Ive started dirtbiking alot more and hardly use the runner for anything other than getting the bike to the trails, which is a pain with a hitch mounted carrier on a lifted rig.

Looking for another Toy or maybe a diesel, or a diesel toy! Hopefully nobody bites, and ill stick with her.

If you have any thoughts of parting with your front bumper, let me know

Sad to see it go. Especially with all the work you've put into it. Someone better appreciate it and treat it with respect!

Dang you vulture...

...but if you want to part with your rear bumper...
