I'm out in spanaway, toward roy area. Yeah if you're free that would be cool. Probably going to be doing it sometime during the week though since I'm not currently working. My dad will be there to help and he has 40+ years experience haha, I was just wondering if there was any tips to make it easier. (i.e. open the hatch because it makes the back of the truck lighter, or something)
Here are a few tips off the top of my head (I'm sure some of the others could chime in as well)
-make sure to use jack stands and double check that it is in park and the parking brake is on. Block the front wheels when doing the rear.
-If you have trouble getting the fronts in, put the bottle jack upside down on the opposite a-arm and push it down.
-remove the spare tire to give more space.
-Remove the attachment points for the rear parking brake to give it room to hang. As we as (I know I said otherwise earlier) release the rear parking brake when the rear is in the air to release the tension in it.
-If you're having trouble with getting the rear shocks out, drill a hole through the upper sheath, shove a long phillips through them and twist.
That's all I can think of now, if anything else pops up I'll let you know. Keep me posted on when you do it. It will be hard for me to get down there during the week, but you never know.
it was an awesome trip!!! I only thought I was going to die once(see pic of Sean winching me up) There are trails galore out there, and they are actually pretty tame. There was a guy with a stock base model Tacoma and he was braffing the shit out of that thing! We need to get a good group together and do this again.
Looks like a sweet trip! Sorry to miss out, but the waves were sweet!
