Yeah but its like pulling teeth with the guy I got the engine from. I'm hoping he does back his warranty up and helps me out here. If he doesn't I am def going to take him to court or make him out to be a crook online (craigslist).
He has been kind of shady this whole time.But he might be ok... Idk.
I didn't do the swap, I ran out of time and couldn't do the swap myself. I really wanted to but at the time I was on leave and messed around with it till I had to go back to playing army. Then I bit the bullet and just got a rebuilt.. If I would have done some research I probably would have gone with the 1uz swap instead of just the 5vz we have now and just go all out.

Hey man, did you check the compression on your cylinders? If so, what were the readings? Where did the gasket fail?

I hadn't thought of doing one until now, good idea. But no I haven't checked the compression on it. I did however get a misfire on #6 cylinder, so I am assuming that It is failing on the 6 and 1 cylinder side. If I end up doing a the change out myself I will do a check just to see what bad readings are. Ill post my finds for everyone.

dude im a dinosaur in that sense, no pay pal or anything not based on cash, hard to get money to me, but i have zero debit because of it, lol, anyways i dont mind hanging on to it for a bit longer till you can show

I've decided to make some sway bar drop brackets mentioned in my thread I posted today , and I'm going to make a couple of extra sets, free to anyone who shows up saturday to help me with my cv"s oh and lunch as well

I need to replace my CV's too. How long of a process do you think that is? And what did you buy as a replacement?

also local guys remove your plate covers if you haven't already , got pulled yesterday over it , the new 520 bridge.scheme has plate readers , the cops will write you a ticket for this starting in the next few weeks. Fyi

I'm thinking an hour for the first one and maybe 30_45 mins for every side ater that , I bought napa lifetimes for around 100 or so , going to run those till we get some hd version or a real solution for this, maybe the boot slide mod and rebuild my stockers

Yeah. That sounds fair. I'd like a more perm solution. Maybe I'll see how yours goes and then go from there. You can be the guinea pig.

that said a couple of guys from our forum here are working on hd boots and possibly shafts. downey off road used to make an upgraded boot for our lifted rides but they have been out of bidness for a number of years now. i wonder if anyone can contact them and just buy the patent off them for a reasonable amount of money?

I'm still in for the meet and we can still use my place as a possible site, unless yall can think of another place. Just to give yall a heads up, the wife is about ready to have abby any day now. So, if she goes into labor we will most likely have to push to another site. I think I might be the only one down south that will be showing up now that kid isnt coming. Anyone else around tacoma want to come?
My truck is still out of commision as well. :crybaby: I haven't gotten around to changing the head gasket or getting the guy to honor his warranty.
Kid, if you want I can pay for the stuff you wanted and hang onto it for you.

that would work jmt2404, if it was another day id be ok with coming up, the only other weekend that i have booked right now is nov 5-6. but i need to go to church this weekend so yeah im out(if you guys wanted to do a sunday then that would be cool i could do that!
