Yeah I figured you had.. You should just do the v8 swap with me..

Anyone have an cherry picker? I would really rather not go rent one if I dont have to.. I go the heads off my truck but now I still cant get the rest of the bolt out of the crank..

Lol. I'd consider it if my engine had more miles on it, but it only has 70k on it.

I think my friend has one. Let me ask him...

OK, just talked to my friend and he does have one. Problem is that it's f'in big and heavy. He said that it's over 300lbs and that the previous owner of it welded the legs on, so it doesn't break down. Therefor we would need a truck to get it down there.
 
Alright thanks guys. Looks like we might have to have another get together. what about this coming up weekend if we can get an engine lift. The only reason I need one is cuz I can't get at the crankshaft like I need to.. So I need to pull the motor and put it on a pallet or stand till I can get the rest of that bolt out. I also need to clean the top of the block so I can get a good seal when I reinstall. Or take the crankshaft out and replace it if need be.

SO does anyone know if I absolutely need to take my heads into a machinist and get them checked out?

Let me check on a few things before we finalize the date for the meet up. Still checking on prices for everything. And weighing my options to go v8 or not! There is an engine and tranny for 300 on craigslist right now for a 1uz motor. And the wife already gave me the ok to do a v8 swap..................... tempting....

Saturday is no good for me, but I could do Sunday.
 
I leave the country til christmas on thursday morning , been really busy lately , that said I can have a look for the cherry picker , I'm shipping the mirror tomorrow and covering the cost cause I'm a ***** , and hepar we replaced my inner tie rods right ? Can't seem to remember right now ...just finished the lower ball joints , lets just.say if .01-.1 is the tolerance I could have died at any moment, lol , like 10 mm in one of them !!!

And I found one on craigslist for 100, I am going to pick it up tomorrow morning in gig harbor.

Alright So I got my heads turned into a machine shop to get pressure tested and will get them back tomorrow ish.. I picked up the engine lift and an engine stand today at gig harbor for 175 bones!! going to start pulling the motor this weekend probably to get that crank bolt out..

I wonder too..I don't think it'll be anywhere near 14,000. I bet he doesn't sell it.

Wonder if it has a rear locker. I'm going to email him about it.
