Seeking input on Slider Brand--Shrock vs. SSO

That is a good point about the holes, however, there are 3 attachment bars with SSO, only 2 with Shrock. Any thoughts on strength with less bars attaching to frame?

FWIW I am looking at Pelfreybilt with four attachment bars.

Just mounted up the Shrockworks with tread-plate on my Limited. Install was easy, instructions were clear. I've seen some videos on youtube that convinced me that the two mounting points were plenty. You'll bend the slider tubing before ever deflecting the posts bolted to the frame.

When did you order yours? I ordered mine at the beginning of the month and just wanted to see what the lead times look like

I have the shrockworks sliders with the top plating. They are great. They look good and function well as a step for the kids and to access the roof rack, etc. I've had more than a few hard impacts on rocks with them and they're solid. They are there to take damage. Any set of sliders you choose will be a hell of a lot cheaper than having to repair doors or body panels. The shrockworks powder coating is great quality, but will scratch if you drop the truck on a rock or log etc. Don't expect any brand to be impermeable to getting scratched if they take a big impact. Easy to fix with masking tape and rustoleum. Any damage would typically be on the bottom side, so once you hit it with some spray paint, its almost impossible to notice.

If you wheel hard, you want sliders. Honestly, any slider should do the trick. Get the ones that you like the look of. The types with bumpout designs might save you in some cases, but the shrockworks that I have already stick out about as far as the bump out section on those other models (essentially, the whole thing is a bump out).

My sliders have saved my ass so many times, get some, get the ones that you like the look of and they will do the trick.

Consider RSG Offroad sliders. They have them in stock and you'll get them within a few days.
We just received a set and they look great! Very beefy, welds are clean, and the powder-coating is done very well.

I just got these installed last week. Solid as can be and they don't just mount to the frame by the arms they have a plate across the whole thing. For sure worth looking into. Plus the kickouts are nice and these sliders are beefy.

If I understand correctly, newer 4Runner frames are being produced with fewer threaded holes than before. Plus the Shrockworks use minimal (but still more than sufficient) brackets to work around XREAS hardlines.

The stick-nuts are easy, anyone with a decent sense of geometry and a little patience should have no trouble installing them, and yet the forum is full of people who seem to have a difficult time with them.

My only complaint is the mixed hardware. Metric bolts with 13mm head for where the frame is threaded, but the stick-nuts and bolts are Imperial with 9/16" (14mm) head. It's a Toyota, why not provide all Metric hardware?

Ordered in January, received in early March. Just email their support address with your order number and they should be able to give you an estimate. Mine arrived a week earlier than they had predicted.

I have the SSO sliders, very happy with them. Have been to Hidden Falls with them and bounced off a couple of rocks with no damage to the sliders at all. Just so you know SSO has a refer a friend program, you save 100.00 off the price and I get a 100.00 credit.
