Sequoia Limited Wheels on 4runner Sport

I work for a Toyota Dealership here and can get wheels/tires just taken off the Sequoia Limited. I have a 06 Sport in Titanium Metallic. Not bad for $400, and would be unique.

Has anyone done this, how does it look?

I like those rims. I've seen a few others on here do that , a few have them powder coated black .

I have a 2007 sequoia limited with the new rims. Every time i look at the cars side by side i think about swapping them. Only thing is...the sequoia would look kinda funny.

They must have 2 colors , Silver and like a Gun Metal gray.

I wouldn't mind the Gun Metals on my Galactic gray 4R.

Based on my research these have a 10mm "lower" offset than the OEM 4runner wheels, which means they move to the outside of the truck by 10mm. This makes for a nicely filled out wheel well.

I'm actually considering them for my GX... I sure wish I could find them for $400; the dealer wants something like $400/ea.

Yeah, but the problem is I want:
- wheels only
- wheels have to be tmps compatible.

Does anyone know what year these became tmps compat? Any way to tell from a picture?

The set that I got in 2005 work find with my TMPS.

Judging by what Toyota sells as OEM for this particular wheel, there is no difference.

Thanks; that's interesting. I know that they have different part numbers for the 4r-Limited 18" wheels in '06, depending on whether or not they accept TMPS. The Sequoia wheels must have been OK from the start.

Are you sure?...TMPS was standard on ALL 4Runners from at least 2005 on.

Yup, I watched the parts guy navigate the menus. There was definitely a non-TPMS part # (and a separate one for TPMS) -- at least for the 18" Limited wheels.

How large of a price difference was there? Maybe one included the monitor and the other did not.

Manufacturing two different wheels would seem like a wasted expense....and strange since TPMS is standard.

that's strange, i don't see the point in making one type of wheel with different compatiblilities

My wheels came off a 2004 tundra which i know didn't come with the TPMS system yet i didn't have any trouble putting the sensors in there.........

What is TPMS ? I take it pressure monitors ??

Does the wheels in question not have them ? or can you just swap from the stock sport rims ( 17") ??

As far as offset goes , do they stick out further than stock sport rims ??? I never heard that before.

Do the rims from the Tundra and sequoia differ in offset and size. ???? They look the same in appearance .

Guess I'm not really understanding the problem or the thread about TMPS not working on these rims.
