Just ordered the Antero Ext!

Family of four, a small utility trailer will be used for camping, and that will support the RTT of choice. Still leaning towards the Skycamp...

For my solo adventures (no family and trailer), this half rack will be perfect. Alex, about 25 to 30 pounds for the Antero with extension?

As I shared over PM a while back, with the factory cross members removed, leaving just the rails, your Antero should make for about a 15 pound weight gain over stock. Sweet.

Glad to be in the RMR family. I imagine I was the first or only one to pester you for half rack, so thanks for listening! I believe you can say that you are currently the only provider of an aluminum half rack for the 3rd gen.

Got my rack last week!
Used my Tacoma to help partially remove my RTT so I could remove the old Thule towers/bars and install the Rocky Mtn Antero. Drove several hundred miles this last weekend to race moto and slept in the tent. Rack did well

How do the feet mount into the factory tracks?

Our feet use carriage bolts to mount to our T-Slot crossbars, then our feet bolt into the factory track nuts in the factory roof tracks.

Very happy to have found this thread! My original plan was to go with a Gobi rack but heard some horror stories and the whole WMW/Gobi controversy left me feeling guilty about going with one.

Now I don't have to feel guilty! This is a better looking rack IMO and I get to support some forum members at the same time! Now I just need to find an unmolested rig to buy and then I'll be placing an order for a Matterhorn.

You mentioned early on that you have plans to make a ladder for these. Is that still on your radar?

Just received my Antero Ext and installed it today. Very nice rack!

Got mine too, and installed as well.

For those who care, the Antero Ext is just 25 pounds, including all hardware. I imagine the Antero w/o extension is more like 22-23 pounds...

The factory rack is 10 lbs, so minimal weight gain.

Hey if your 4runner is desert dune would you mind posting some more photos of it? I plan on getting the same rack for mine and wanted to go with the raw aluminum look and just want to see the full picture of what it looks like on yours!

Yes it’s Desert Dune. I will also stay with the raw aluminum instead of painting. My T4R is work in progress, my rear bumper should be here next week, front bumper in about 3-4 months and then a small lift.

That's a beautiful 4runner you've got there. I like the raw aluminum on yours so I'm def staying with that route. I dig the ladder too

I’m loving this rack. So glad you decided to do the Antero Ext. it’s perfect for my needs. The clearance is perfect for the ladder. Wish someone else besides Gobi made them though.

Those stickers are nice! Got a couple of compliments on the rack at the NW Overland Rally this weekend and passed along the name. Also picked up a new CVT awning (great people) and after grabbing a couple of carriage bolts from the hardware store in town, had it mounted up in about ten minutes!
