Shift lock override cover

Pissed.

Wife takes 01 4R into carwash. Car gets cleaned. Husband notices that shift lock override cover is missing the next day.

It's completely gone - either they wanted it or they accidentally broke it (I suspect this is the case as the local wash does get into all the nooks and crannies) - and palmed it so that my wife wouldn't notice.

Anyone ever had to replace this thing?

Next time don't let wife take car to car wash, let husband do it and save some $$$ and nothing is broke or missing.

lesson learned.

Good advice is said husband has nothing better to do than stand around, dick in one hand and soapy sponge in the other.

THIS husband spends free time at the beach, which is well worth the $14 for carwash (though the $10.50 for the missing piece of plastic was a pisser - I thought my BMWs and MBZs had high part costs...)

Any secret to getting this cover back on? Is it hinged?

OK..... but wife keeps taking car to carwash while husband sits on beach, mark friend on forums words one day wife comes home from carwash with body or paint damage to car and then husband is bent over with d**k in a** for the cost to fix.
$10.50 this time ....just wait.

But as I always say to each his own......enjoy the beach.:D
