I want to get an aftermarket shift knob for my 1999 sr5 5 spd but I don't really see anything on this topic online. Anyone have any good looking and feeling knobs? I'm pondering the oem TRD but want to see what else is out there. Also, if anyones done any shift boot mods some pics would be nice:thumb:

Double check the thread pitch, I know the newer 5-speeds (did this on a 2010 Tacoma) are the same pitch as the Subaru WRX which opens up a world of shift knob options.

I have a Rydel Fab 5 speed knob. I drive with my hand on the shifter most of the time...

Just to tell you something you probably already know... Keeping your hand on the shifter while driving puts extra wear on the transmission. Specifically, wearing the dog teeth (I think).

Thanks for all the replies! I like the feel of wooden knobs, my friends makes them and has one on his pickup. I just don't know if I want to give him the stress of another project cause i don't have the greatest wood working skills quite yet. I like the look of that Greddy knob, i'm trying to go for a clean look and that definitely fits. And I like your carbon scheme @grannyz
