Shock/coil replacement ....not the norm

So, the standard upgrade many on here do is FJ Cruiser springs and Bilstein 5100s. I'm in slightly different scenario. I'm not interested in serious off-road or leveling the front end. I'm using my 4runner daily, towing a landscape trailer and mowers (approx 3k pounds).
I just want new shocks, and I'd be happy w the rear still a tad tail high. That said.....I'd love to find a cheaper alternative for replacement shocks than the Bilsteins. I don't HAVE to install the FJ springs, either.

Any suggestions?

5th gen stock rear coils. I think the shocks work also but not 100% sure. You can pick them up very cheap

I believe the OEM 5th gen rear shocks work on the 4th gen, just not 100% sure of that. Search around on here, I know it's been done, just not sure if any modification was required.

OP. Go to rockauto.com. but some bilstein 4600s and some moog springs for your truck and you will get what you are looking for.

do you have alot of miles on the stock suspension?

if high miles, 4600 should work, but 5100 is only a small price increase, with the abilitly to make the truck level.

also if the rear have alot of sag already, just do new coils.

moogs fj cruiser 4wd coils are only 110 out the door at rock auto.

also consider looking for airbags for the rear.
firestone or airlift.

i use firestone since the install is more easier, holes need to be cleanly cut and all you do is insert and a small tug to make sure its in.
