Looking at '05 Limited 4WD with 99k on it tomorrow. Original owner, hes asking 15k but want it for 14K if I can. I will have to sell my '99 SR5 SE 4WD with 138k on it to do the deal. Should I pull the trigger?:ak472:

Did you get a chance to test drive it? IMO, I think that is a little bit too pricey, but then it is a limited edition of 4R production line. I scooped my white '04 4R at 72k miles for thirteen thousand five hundred some dollars (13,5xx - can't remember exactly). That's just me, 'tho. If any, I'd try for 10-13g if I were you...it really depends on his accident history, maintenance history, stuff like that. Make sure you bring a buddy that's into cars with you so that he can give you an unbiased opinion on the 4R you're looking at. I remember seeing my future 4R..I was so excited, I didn't care for anyone to come out and look at it real fast (I still took it to my mechanic after I bought it) but I did wish someone else was with me so that while I was busy getting excited about scooping a 4th gen, there would be someone else that is more concerned about the vehicle's reliability, misc. stuff that should be looked at before you start dropping fat stacks

I know our prices around here are different than there but it'd be a good deal here.

All depends on what you're looking for, it looks nice and clean. Nice that it's from the original owner too. On the other hand, what you're driving right now is a sweet ride in itself, and not overly common either. I know when I made the jump from my 3rd gen to the 4th that the 4th was nicer in a lot of ways, but I sure miss alot of things about my 3rd gen.

Either way, good luck with the decision. Let us know how it goes.

looks pretty nice. I just bought my 06 SR5 with 74K mles on it for 19,600 out the door. perfect condition with perfect maitnence records. one owner. I'd say it is a pretty good deal. of coarse mine was also Toyota certified and everything but that didn't increase the price too much.

kbb says it is worth 16000 clean private party and NADA says it is worth 18K from a dealer. dealer clean trade in is 14775, so I think if you can get him down to 14K it would be a good deal. just make sure there is nothing wrong with it.

This one was his wifes (he says shes really neat & clean) which she leased and then bought, thats why the carfax shows 2 owners. The book is 16K he wants 15K and I wont go over 14K.
Hey times are tough. I will look at it tomorrow. I made a appointment at the dealer to do a pre-purchase inspection. I think it might just too many miles on it though. I really wanted the '06 when they made all the changes and I kind of wanted a SE (I can put leather in for $1200) and a V8. Not sure if this one has the X-REAS option, will check tomorrow. It has NAV too! I have a guy waiting in the wing to buy my '99 for 8K, way above book. :redbrick:

thanks man

I think its a good deal at 15k and a fantastic deal at 14k! I looked for my 04 Limited with 80k for months in Central California...found it for 16,300 otd. JUst remember to ask if the timing belt has been done...that's 1000 bucks right there you will be out if not. The closest thing I found in all my time searching was a 05 sport, black with 54k miles in LA for 17k...I think It's a good deal, but I'm just a girl!! ;)

Thanks for the input.
Timing belt replacement is only for V8, The V6 is a lifetime chain. :surfer:

where you nab the led tails at? I see Jason only has some black ones

I got them from partznet.com. They weren't cheap (I think I paid like $350 for the OEM set) but in my opinion they were totally worth it. I tried some aftermarket Depo tails and they were junk.

I actually think I like the front of the '05 over the '06. More chiseled, wider look.
Was called into work today so... going to check out that rig in the morn’n :naughty:

180 miles round trip to look at this TR4 Limited 4WD and can you believe it..... ITS NOT 4 WHEEL DRIVE!

He could have called me he new I was on my way.
His wife's Runner.... he thought they were all 4WD.

I thought the badging on the door looked a little short from the tiny pic but he had 4WD in the title so....doh!:moon:

Oh no, that's brutal!

Wife's runner or not, that's something he should just know.

Sorry to hear about your luck.
