Should I sell my 2009 G37 for a 2001 4Runner

ask yourself.. Are you willing to give up all the creature amenities of the G. As much as I love my 4runner. I would never trade my TL-s for it (wife drives it now :/).

If your looking to just save coin.. buy a maybe more used 4runner. maybe for 4k. stash the rest of the loot.

For 8k I would look into 4th gen runners.. especially if your just looking for 2wd.

What kind of gas mileage do you get in the Infinity? You will average about 17-18 in the runner.

I get about 10 in my G. I live in the city though. On the highway in Utah I got about 18.

Haha, I wish! But nothing is wrong with it. It's a 330 HP engine that I use to drive a couple of miles here and there in stop and start traffic. Rarely get over 35 mph. For the rare times I do drive out of the city or on a highway, if I reset the MPG calculator, it goes up to 18-20mpg.

As an Infiniti tech, the G25/35/37's are really, for the most part, problem free. My 140k mile 97 4runner is also problem free. Coming from a Chevy/high performance background, I'll tell you I can't believe how well Japanese cars are engineered and built. While it's a downgrade to get rid of the G, I don't think an older 4runner will be any less reliable though.

I'm not trying to say a 4runner will be less reliable. I know both cars are reliable and both will put a smile on your face but I still think it's a step down. Like another poster said, "are you ready to get rid of the creature comforts". Drive a 4runner and go from there.

I'm guessing if 6 people have contacted her and it's still for sale, there's something wrong with it. Also guessing, what's wrong is the price. Offer 6k and give her your phone number. If it's a private sale there may be a sentimental value tacked onto that price. 6k in the hand is better than it sitting in the driveway, if she really wants to sell it. Check blue book and offer to show her where she may be wrong on the price of a 2wd.

it looks nice, unless your in a rush shop around find one with maintenance records, in your ideal color, and with decent miles. make sure TB/WP have been done and its got a clean title and history. ands if u look you can find some with super charges on them already. there was one like that up in chicago on CL might still be there.

Im not a big fan of the Limited model only because of the side cladding. Looks a bit too chunky and plasticky. Just my opinion and some may love it.

I certainly HATE the side cladding on the 4th generation, but I like it on white 3rd gens. I don't think I like it on 3rd gens in other colors, though. It's too much contrast.

I must say that the original one you posted looks pretty smooth with it on. If you were to take the boards off I dont think it would flow as well though.

Other than the limited wheels, I like the SR5 better. Sunroof and heated seats arent important to me.

I mean, would it look as good as if it were factory all-white? Or would the paint not adhere well to the plastic material?
