Here's mine. Haven't been out wheeling with it yet, but it seems very stable.

Scosche MagicMount Magnetic & SlipToGrip pads for phone and sunglasses

This little magnetic mount from Scosche works well. The magnet holds the phone in place while driving. I chose a spot out of the way to mount it, since I don't really need to see the screen most of the time. I stuck the mount in the random little divot for spare change or whatever (not sure what actual purpose is), so I didn't lose any real estate. If you pay attention to where you place the metal plate on your phone or phone case, the phone won't get in the way of the shifter or transfer case shifter. The metal plate can be stuck to the inside of your phone case or directly to the phone. It will also hold an iPad mini, which I use to run Hema Maps or the like. Link below:

Also, SlipToGrip Twin pack, cut to size in the little compartments in the dash allow sunglasses and an iPod to stay in place (100x better). My sunglasses used to slide out of that little compartment evertime I accelerated. They stay put perfectly with the sliptogrip pad in their:

For the phone I built a mutli-coil QI charger into the cubby. The note 4 fits in there perfectly.

For the tablet I recently installed an Arkon heavy duty tablet mount.

I didn't want to make any hole; wanted something non permanent so I came up with this. Extremely happy with how well it works.


The suction cup mounts to the fold up cover for the power supply and cubby hole.

Serious question, Why do you guys need your phones mounted?

I toss mine in the door pocket. It connects to the stereo via BT automatically so I can get and make calls if needed.

I use the factory Nav which I find works as good or better than Waze or Google.

Factory system will even read text messages to me.

I'm glad to hear it, but I think you're probably in the minority.

I toss mine in the door pocket. It connects to the stereo via BT automatically so I can get and make calls if needed.

I use the factory Nav which I find works as good or better than Waze or Google.

Factory system will even read text messages to me.

Because Waze has a point system that I want to climb! And I can send my route to others on it (The wife loves that part).

For me, it’s because I regularly use WAZE, or Apple maps for navigation. Makes phone access easier and the stereo sounds much better when connected directly vs. using Bluetooth connection.

Same, I use Waze as well. Always on the road. I like those magnetic mounts, but don’t want to have to remove my case every time I’m in my truck.

I use the pro clip vent mount with a ram ball attached to it and a Hondo Garage perfect squeeze phone mount. Love it, rock solid.
