Shrockworks 5th Gen 4Runner Front Bumper

Killer! You have the right idea with the profile, the others I have seen are monstrous. I might even ask to have my upper grill guard welded straight up and down instead of angled forward. Looks great, look forward to adding it to my SW sliders.

excited

worth the waitsince day 1, and ive had my t4r since nov09.
ive got the sliders and this will fit in nicely. $ign me up!

Well .. I think I'm odd man out. I cannot grow to love ANY of the latest incarnations of off-road bumpers because the extreme upsweep to the bumper wings/outboard corners in front of the wheels looks like crap to my eye. Viewed square-on from the front, I think it gives the 4Runner a goofy smiley-face appearance. No offence to Shrockworks; all current bumpers look like this.

I understand the thinking that this uber-high clearance in front of the wheels greatly improves approach angle but I'll counter that by saying that you'll still bury the "snoot" long before you reach the clearance angle in front of each wheel since the approach angle is still limited by the middle section of the bumper (which is significantly lower). If I were negotiating my 4Runner up a 2-foot high rock ledge, the lowest point of the bumper is still going to make contact no matter how high the outboard corners of the bumper.

In any event, if I could find a bumper where the wings/outboard corners sit no higher than the center section of the bumper, I buy it in a heartbeat.

I think it looks really good. I like the pre-runner Bar for sure without the headlight guards, I am sure you could go either way with that. I like the slightly larger diameter on the pre-runner bar. How about a nice aluminum skid plate that mounts to it. My biggest concern is the trim for sure. My Bro has the Arb Sahara Bar/Bumper on his 11 Land Cruiser and its trimmed off nicely. Very Cool ShockWorks! I may get one, it all depends on the finnishing and trim work. That is the biggest thing regarding any 5th Gen Bumper in my eyes.

If you want to make it over that, you dont approach head on, you approach at an angle, which lets you get one tire up , which brings the middle up, then the other tire. If the bumper were low on the corners, you would not be able to do that and could not make it

Jim .. point taken. But how much front wheel approach clearance is too much? This likely accounts for why we see so many 4x4 rollover video clips on YouTube :lmao:

I guess what I'm looking for is more of "expedition" bumper rather than a rock-crawling bumper.

Ok shrockworks - way to go...I had zero interest in putting an aftermarket front bumper on my 4Runner until you just posted with these pictures.

What I like:
-No Trimming of Stock Bumper
-Will potentially re-use stock foglights
-It doesn't stick out 3 feet like the ARB bumper, its high and tight!

My hopes:
-Everything buttons up nicely behind the bumper (washer fluid bottle, wheel well liner)
-Don't re-use the factory rectangular turn signals/running lights. I think it looks out of place and I like the nice little turn signals on your 4th gen bumpers. We can re-use the wiring/bulbs but don't integrate the entire housing like on gadget's bumper.
-That I can afford this when it comes out!

i like the way they brought the bumper all the way up on that one but i personally think it looks silly being so close to the grill. i like a bumper that sticks out a little bit. the rear bumper does look absolutely amazing though.

i might have to buy a 4runner instead of a Tacoma for my next vehicle just for the bumpers haha
If you like one that sticks out more, buy the ugly ARB!

cool. I like it. I agree on using the stock fogs and having an option for stock turn signals too, to keep it legal. not having to cut the stock bumper, that's a plus too.

I love my Shrock Sliders, and would be very comfortable buying from you guys again.
Have you seen a bumper that uses the stock fogs? They look pretty bad (not good), the circular fog lights look much better and Shrockworks will put a turn signal in the side of the bumper, close to the foglights.

If you do that, then it kind of defeats one of the purposes of aftermarket bumpers, bigger tires. You're right about most of the bumpers being like this, but that is obviously what sells....

um, yes I have, on all of the Xterra bumpers they make. The stock fog lights are circular. Not sure where you are going on this. I agree on the turn signals/running lights, asince thay are so big and rectangular.

You need to learn how to multiquote.

O SNAP!

I'm interested to see the inserts for under the headlamp. I was just about to pull the trigger on an ARB, good thing you guys posted these pics. I'm ready to buy one once everythings good to go!!!!

Attractive but tough?

Yes, this looks quote good. But can you reveal something of the attachment to the vehicle's structure? As a winch mount it needs to withstand >8,000 lb pulls at angles off bore sight (left, right, up, down). Some of the other bumper offerings we have seen refer to up-coming stress tests, but then go silent.

A photo of the underside, looking up, would be helpful in showing the frame attachment, and a few words describing how it works.

Another vote for mounting points for stock fog and turn signals! Also, the only bumper to possibly offer trim pieces to avoid cutting the body... GREAT! Looks awesome so far. Can't wait to see what's to come! :bigok:

just to clarify, we are going to integrate the factory fog lights, but not the turn signals. The OEM turn signals are ginormous. We'll use the same ones as in or other bumpers.
