I think it is time to applaud Jim for his timeframe - these were delivered in 30 days from the time I ordered. Obviously the early orders took longer, but this is more than reasonable IMO.

Installation was straight forward. My only hiccup was not having as many threaded holes in my frame (which Jim alerts to in the instructions) as anticipated. There is an option to drill extra holes up front which I have not yet done, so these are attached with 6 bolts on each side.

As others have pointed out, they sit perfectly parallel to the line of the tires, meaning if you look straight down they appear deeper towards the rear as the body curves in. They look awesome and could not be stronger, and are very functional as steps. After picking up two paint chips from a door ding on my 3rd day of ownership, I only wish Jim offered a telescoping version that extend out another 12" when I park the truck. Two thumbs way up on these rock rails :thumb3: :thumb3:

Did you get the semi-gloss powder coat finish or the textured black powder coat finish (satin/flat)? Two supports or three? Thanks!!!

3 supports. Jim at SW told me the semi-gloss is thicker and more durable, so it was my choice. Had I not been told that I would have tried the textured.

Thanks for the info! In person, does the semi-gloss look alright alongside all of the matte black plastic and tires on the truck or does it stand out?

Did you have any issues with the gas tank strap and having to jack the gas tank back up? I was just reading on the shrockworks website and one person commented on how this was not explained in the instructions? I ask only because I am about to order a set I was going to get the wrinkle finish but if it is a thinner coat then I am also curious on how it looks along side the matte plastic. It looks good in the pictures but it is dirty like they should be lol.

I was going to go for the wrinkled set too but decided on the semi-gloss - I had the same concerns as you at first but now that they are on you can't even tell. I also decided that that semi-gloss would be easier to touch up if they were to ever get any scratches :biggrin2:

And as far as the gas tank support...thats a pain in the ass. My skid wouldn't come completely off, one bolt was super tight and in an awkward position behind the drive shaft so I never supported the tank with anything. While I did only have about a 1/4 of a tank left, it was really hard getting that bolt that the strap uses back on. I had a friend push up on the tank using a wrench while I simultaneously tried to get the strap situated.

I finally got it, and I did this in my drive way with the help of 1 person since I don't have any jack stands / floor jacks. Its definitely do-able I just wouldn't try and tackle it on your own without the right tools.

Sorry I missed this question. As someone else already added the match is super. Don't stand out at all IMO.

Mine was straight forward and not difficult. You will quickly identify that when putting that bolt back in, you have to pull on the strap to get its hole straight over the threaded hole. Otherwise, the bolt will want to go in at an angle (which of course it won't) so it just takes a little tug to align them properly. My tank was also 1/4 full or less and I did not worry about supporting it. I removed the 4 or 5 bolts that hold the Trail's full length skid plate and just bent it down a little to the other side to create proper access.
 
Nice rig and color. I'm liking the sliders though and will get a pair for sure but it will be a step sliders, will be flat and no angle. Can you please provide pics of the sliders as if you are sitting on driver's seat looking down so it will give an idea how far round tube sticks out? Thanks.

Yeah, I saw those pics but would like from the OP to provide a closer pics and clearer pics as if he/she is sitting down on driver's seat getting ready to step out of the truck. What I'm trying to calculate is the distance/gap from the edge of the round tube to the edge of the square tube. I know the website said 4 1/2 distance on a 30 degree angle but if layed out flat, would it look a lot wider? I'm planning to put a diamond plate as a step board, that is why I'm trying to figure how far will it stick out:D.
 
I finished up the install of my Shrockworks sliders last night. Installation wasn't too difficult and pretty straight forward.

Anyone else notice a big difference in handling/steering?

I know these things are heavy, but they make the vehicle feel so MUCH heavier. Steering isn't as nimble and ride feels...softer...less like a truck.

I lost .25" of height as well. I can swing my legs out of the driver's seat and feet be scraping the ground....I don't like that haha.

Guess my next purchase is the OW 2.5 set-up =)

Looks tough !! Nice choice and the Duratecs don't hurt the looks either. Nice looking truck !!

I'm not kidding at all. Which part do you think isn't accurate?

The truck feels noticeably heavier thru the handling and steering. I didn't think they would make that big of a difference on stock suspension.
