Can you use the included stick nuts?

Didn't it come with stick nuts? I heard it's a bear but it shouldhave come with stick nuts you push in on one side and thread the bolt from the other side.

Short answer: hold on to the "stick", put it into a frame access hole and line up the nut with the slider bolt.

Truck is looking great! Yeah I had to really grind down one of the stick nuts to get it in a small hole, on one or two I bought longer bolts as it made things much easier. Love the step sliders though! Good looking rockers of course. Haha

Go black. After seeing gunmetal on a couple trucks I really think black is best.
Silver 14+ trail wheels are nice and cheaper as well!

Nah, I fell in love w/ the TRD wheels. FN wheels are lighter and wider.
Black looks good but so does:
I can tell you that I love my matte bronze FN f(x) Pro wheels!

OP sand and paint those stick nuts or grease the crap out of them they rust like a mf'er.

Well a little late to paint and grease them as they are already installed...should I spray a ton of WD40 in there or spray paint or just live with it? I'm not taking them back...F that.

How long do you intend to keep your truck? It is just rust is cancerous, it would take forever to rust through anything, it will creep under paint and flake it off that's about it. Some people are crazy about there undercarriages, me a tiny bit, I just don't like dealing with rust welded, corroded parts, particularly hardware, come time to change/upgrade something.

I guess they could have designed the stick nuts better. Different material maybe? or put a sear or perf in the stick just before the nut so after tightening a couple lateral flexes (ie bends) you could snap the tail off?
How rusty does stuff get in NOLA? Keep an eye on it and do something if necessary. Fortunately they only salt and slurry the crap out of the roads here a couple months out of the year. I have had some fenders and door bottoms rust clean through, on some older model Toy pickups. LOL I had to torch the lift chain to get the spare tire off on one. Hence my disdain. New stuff is a bit better, I had a few cancerous spots popping up through the paint on my 99 4runner, I keep hitting the undercarriage components/suspension/tire lift/ect. with WD-40 after a wash at the end of any big storm cycles and it held up really well.
You could put anything petroleum based on them.

That would take quite a small camera to get inside the frame??? :lol:
It's not bad at all, passenger was harder than driver for me, but I have the RCI gas skid which sounds better than a factory. You may want to pick up a couple longer bolts, just makes a couple much easier with the stick nuts, got mine at Lowes.
I did grind one stick nut edge to go through a smaller hole as that was easier than fiddling with the stick from further away. There are several threads with great pics on here, but you'll be able to understand once you are under there.
A second set of hands would be nice but I did it all myself with a six pack and two jack stands.
