Side view mirror, how to search a junk yards effectively?

Hi everyone,

long story short, the side view mirror came off on my 04 white limited while we had a family medical emergency. Been a rough couple of months for my family and I would appreciate any recommendations on this front since we are kinda strapped for cash.

Two questions for you guys:


How do you guys effectively search junk yards for a spare part? I don't see many 4th gen when i try to search. I'm I totally missing something? I tried Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market but no avail. I can't wait much longer since I don't want duct tape etching into the paint with 100+ degree summer heat.

is 87910-35630-A1 the part number the correct part number for a side view mirror? Does the side view mirror generally come with other small parts that I need to buy along with it? cheapest online price from dealer is 220 after shipping. I would prefer not to go the non-oem route, and have a oneside being black and the other side being white. I honestly don't have much time to spray paint an aftermarket mirror and deal with that route.

I tried punching the information in and saw a number of postings for it. Is yours power and heated or just power side RH mirror?

A few years back, my driver side mirror was broken off by some douchebag in SF while the truck was parked. I was able to get one from the dealership directly for about $220, but it came already painted and had all the items need to put it on (it was a easy DIY even for a not so mechanically inclined person like myself).

Power and heated RH. Yeah I made a few posts back, I was hoping not to shell out the 220. I didn't mean to repost, I honestly forgot i made the other one.

oh okay, yeah I think I found the same thing. 200+20 shipping precolored. I wasn't sure if I had to get anything else. But thank you for clearing that up. Pretty sure there is only one part number for colored (per side) , so I think all the colored ones must be heated. (I think)

I checked again at car parts.com, there are some 4th gens, but nothing near by. I'll i sent messages before, no one replied, I try calling, ill call 5 or so if no one replies, Ill just go with the dealership for 220 shipped.

If you want something to hold you over I have one in rough shape. I hit a cement post so it's held together with packing tape but has a good mirror. I used it for the last couple years so it works better than nothing.

I appreciate it, the one I have currently is being held with packing tape :noidea:

I was thinking of trying to glue it together with a plastic weld, but i dont think it will work. too f*'ed

I tried the gluing mine, just made it more of a mess. Maybe post in the Classifieds, I got my 'new' ones from another members for a decent price. There just may be someone with a set sitting the their garage.

I've replaced both my mirrors in the last several months--got both of them from Amazon for about 40$. Both power, non-heated. Heated was an extra 10 if I remember right. No discernible difference from them and Toyota brand as of yet. The driver side vibrates slightly at highway speed but I'm fairly sure I can remedy that, if not it's not that bad and worth it for the price difference. I'll paint them to match the silver soon.
