Sirius Install

Well I couldn't get any response to one of my earlier post about this antenna install so I went ahead and did the install. well may be some one can answer this question, I activated the Sirius radio and it plays on and off saying no signal then it plays for awhile then no signal, could it be that the antenna is not working on the inside of the windshield. Here are some pictures.

I'm just taking a guess here, but it looks like your antenna was designed so that the silver part is supposed to be facing the sky. In your case, it's pointing pretty much down and into the car, which (possibly) would explain your lack of signal...?

If you look at the picture you'll see "SIRIUS" on the silver disk. It is just a emblem and not the antenna itself.


I am wondering if the antenna is mounted too close to the electronics module of the compass mirror.

Also double check the antenna lcable and make sure that it is not damaged anywhere as well as disconnect and reconnect its connector into the main electronics box to make sure it is well seated.

Antenna Relocate

OK folks, after reading the reply post what I did was remove the antenna from the location next to the mirror and just placed it on the dash board and it got a signal and never once lost it, so the problem was either to close to the mirror or facing the wrong way, so what I did was just relocate it to the right side of the passenger dash, ( see pic.)

Like I said, it was facing the wrong direction. Glad that it's working now.
