size of tires on a lift?

i am planning to put a 3inch toytech ome lift on my 03 sport, along with a 1 inch body lift, how big of tires do you think i could fit on it, right now i have 265/70/17 on there do you think i could go with 315/70/17? sorry if some of the tire sizing doesnt make the most sense they confuse the hell out of me!

315/70-17 is roughly a 34.5" tire. Some people have been able to fit 35's on their rigs will a solid 3" suspension and 2" body lift. So by that I'd say yeah it can be done. But you will also need to consider the possibility of regearing since you will also practically need that as well.

I dont think your going to fit 315s under there with that set up, I could be wrong, but heres what Im running:
3" lift, 1.5 bodylift, STOCK wheels with 265/70-17 MTs, and stock A-arms.

holly cr*p thats a tight fit :jaw drop: I guess I can forget about fitting 255/75/17 Destination M/T on my 3" front lift only since they are bigger than 265/70/17

255/75/17 are not as wide as the 265/70/17, but are taller (about 32").

Plenty of guys are running 255 BFG MTs on their rigs with a 3" lift. And some are running 34's with a 3" susp and 1.5 BL. Wheel spacers can give the tire more clearance from the UCA.

based on this picture 255/75/17 will not wit since they are about 0.4" bigger than 265/70/17. Remember, we are taliking a same tire here - Destination M/T. I know a forum member here runs BFG M/T in 255/75/17 and they fit just fine.

so i am confused, you have a 3inch lift and a body lift but i am running 265/70/17R on my car and its completely stock, why is that? arent yours the same size?

same size different breed of tires (M/T's are taller overall), and different manufacturer.
