Slee Sliders.

can you say trademark infringement!!!!!????!!!!

Williams n Sonoma has had these running boards on the market for years!!!

I can see why there's no love for this product but it sure looks functional enough to me (as sliders and steps). It's the pricing that's out of whack. Hell the nfab stuff looks completely odd to me and people seem to like them. (I do realize they're not classified as sliders.)

I don't get all the negativity either? Its a great design for a dual purpose vehicle. You get the benefit of a slider and a running board. Great for grabbing your skis out of the Thule box in the winter.

There are plenty of times I wish I had more to stand on then on the tubes of my MetalTech sliders. More often in fact than the times where a "slider step" is going to get in the way on a trail.

When we purchase a 5th gen (planning later this year) I want these sliders personally. The 4R will be for my wife and not the trail truck that mine is. It will see some dirt on occasion but needs to be the soccer mom truck first. She will get easy access with the kid and I won't have to worry about dropping off some ledge.

I see by the comments most here are struck by form over function. I seriously doubt most here have actually USED your sliders to do what they were designed to do - that is, to go up against a rock and actually SLIDE along the rock to continue down the trail. I would bet that the most use your sliders get is as a place to stand while washing the top of your 4Runner. Sure, a few of you probably have gotten too close to the rocks and scratched your sliders but aside from a few, the only scratches are from the bottom of your shoes for the most part. With that said, if I have a choice of standing on a little tiny pipe to get to the top of my 4Runner or standing on some heavy duty running boards that could also double as protection (so you don't think 3/16 is enough Stifler? Tell me, what IS enough?) if you ever need it, my choice is Slee. Are they as COOL looking as the "Beefy Bump Out Sliders?" No but they are WAY more practical for what most of you intend to do with them. Fortunately I can reach the middle of the top of my 4Runner with a rag to wash it without standing on anything. For those who can't, these would be a great alternative to the factory running boards and offer protection to boot. Then again, I didn't buy a 4Runner just to look cool either.
And complaining about price? So you guys are willing to pay $500.00 for a piece of bent tube but won't spend $1,000.00 on something obviously well designed and thought out that you can use every day? Your choice.

(so you don't think 3/16 is enough Stifler? Tell me, what IS enough?)
The problem with "engineers" is they cant detect sarcasm.....

but they are still ugly and mount with a plethora of what I can only hope is at least grade 8 bolts.... those 3 arms arent going to support a good smack under the weight of a 4R.... maybe a Jeep (which is what I build and off road in mostly). Additionally the lower frame bolts are just crying to get hung up on something if you truly are using these as sliders. My guess is not many people here rock crawl their 4R anyway.... so ya I think they are sub par and horrendous. Personally I prefer a "Slider" or rocker guard be tub mounted with countersunk hardware.... it distributes the load across the entire side of the vehicle. One good smack to the front or rear of the Slee could send it right into the body... ever see the affect of 3/16th on sheet metal? So my point is I was being sarcastic about the metal strength but I am not being sarcastic by the design or price of those....

See I can type long paragraphs as well lol

This is the only sentence in the previous statement I can agree with. The rest of the post appears to be solely based on the observation of a picture or two viewed online. Nothing tangible based on seeing it in person let along actually using it?

They really don't look that bad and Slee has quite a rep with the LC crowd for great products and workmanship. Probably look great in person.

The only real problem I see is they will only fit TE's without KDSS from the frame detail pics. Wonder if they know about all the Limited's Xreas stuff along the frame rails and the 3+ inch lower rocker panels(can be cut or removed) on both the SR5 and Limited. It would take a new design to fit Limiteds,SR5's and TE's with KDSS .

Bud's full tread sliders would be my choice though if I really needed something more to stand on at about half the cost. But they take removing or cutting the rocker panels too on Limiteds and SR5's

Do they come with that nasty looking brown leather wrapped steering wheel from the other thread? Slee stack sliders, put me down for a don't like and no thanks.

anyone with RC experience can see those are not ready for hardcore use. Will they hold up to typical off roading and a bump here and there? sure.... are they up to Hollister, JV etc? not even close, I mean the arms aren't even boxed or at least gusseted. So while yes I have not used SLEE I have used many products and wheeled many places to know just by looking at them... :peace: {and no I am not a professional WEROC or UROC driver if that is what you require for credibility

I don't think you see the point I'm trying to make. I'm not trying to argue the strength of the said product. Only that your completely dismissing the product based on pictures, some basic specs you read online and your use of "many products". By that argument I could completely dismiss a Jeep or H3 as being trash. The only credibility I want is some first hand experience before calling anything "sub par and horrendous".

Everyone is certainly entitled to their opinion especially with regard to aesthetics, but your claims of failure go well beyond that. They appear to be solely based on speculation and your definition of "hardcore". You did bring up a couple valid points, not boxed or gusseted. Do they need them? I don't know, I did not design them. Without using them I'm going to error on the side of Christo Slee. My experience with some of his other products leads me to do so.

No I am saying they arent REAL sliders and they are fugly... nothing more nothing less. If you are gonna call something a "slider" then make sure it is designed for that. Those are nothing more than overbuilt side steps... and Jeeps arent trash but H3s definitely are! lol
