Slight clicking sound when accelerating, from auto tranny.

I have noticed a slight clicking noise when accelerating. 1997 4x4 auto. The sound is only noticeable in drive. When I click into neutral and press the gas there isn't any clicking. I installed a new radiator and external trans cooler when I bought the rig a year ago. At the same time I had my mechanic check the trans fluid to make sure, it was good.
Any ideas? Just want to handle it before the noise gets bad.

No I haven't. The zeros could probably use a lil grease.

If you put grease in the zeros and the noise stops look into changing them as most likely they are bad

I spun the front drive shaft and heard some clicking coming from the transfer case right where the rear of the front drive shaft bolts in. I was under the impression that the front shaft doesn't spin when in 2wd. Am I wrong in thinking that?
