slip yoke removal

seems like i need to take mine apart and do a good cleaning..... as hard braking clunk is still randomly there.
i'm suspecting alot of old grease is stuck in there. as when i go to fill up not getting dirty or any grease come out of the seal, and when i take out the zerk access grease comes out from the pressure but nothing old is coming out.

tried to break the bolts free with 3/4 socket, floor jack bar, and a swiggly but couldn't apply enough force to break them loose.

my 1/2 impact sockets don't contact the nut enough to feel comfortable to hit it with that. has anybody taken theirs out???

Maybe, think about grabbing a solid breaker bar. The extra leverage could be just what you need to tackle those stubborn bolts. And a neat trick: wrap a bit of aluminum foil around your 1/2 impact socket for better grip – it can help prevent slippage.

got myself a good ole milwaukee m18 1/2 impact to deal with them. my friend had let me borrow his a couple times, thought it was time to get my own. so i'll be tackling this job shortly.
