What would slow down the rust on the under carriage? I want to slow down or stop it if I can. I am new to the forum and this my fourth but best shape 4runner. It has 161,xxx and some rust showing through the paint on the rear wheel wells. Great interior and runs awesome. Paid 1500 bucks. Only thing to work on right now rust around the wheel wells. Thanks

don't know if this would help you, but i just got my first 4r; '95, 83k miles, nice new paint job, new rear bumper, nice interior :] $4500. anyway, the underneath has some surface rust, and my stepfather [who's a mechanic] is gonna help me powerwash underneath and put an undercoating on to help prevent it from going further. but i'm sure someone more experienced will be around soon to help further :]

Rust Check or Krown Rust will spray inside body panels, preventing more rust from developing. Any stay wet rust coating product (gel type) is good for underneath unless you plan on going all out with some dis-assembly and POR-15. If you aren't in a rust belt I'd do the POR-15 thing. Rust belt--gel her up.
