Sluggish

So my buddy decided to swap both heads out. Now that everything is back together, he got sluggish problem. Timing is correct but exhaust is leaking from both sides. Other than that, there are no codes and vacuum lines are ok. Any gurus with thoughts or opinions?

exhaust is leaking from both sides.

It seems like you might be onto something with the exhaust leak but more information regarding the engine model will help lure the right guru. Other places to look for power loss, perhaps the valve clearances on the new heads are not up to spec, idle speed too low, advance not working, crossed spark wires...re-check the easy things firs, after fixing the leak.

Thanks for the response. It's a 3.slow. lol....spark wires are in correct orders except he has autolite plugs in there. Will swap them out tomorrow for ngks. Idles speed is fine but didn't check valve clearance. Just a backyard mechanic lol.

Get the leaks fixed obvy. But by correct timing do you mean 10*? If so try bumping it up to 13ish and see if that wakes it up a little.

We did find the problem and it was the injector connector. Came loose as he was pulling up on a ground wire. :lol:
