Small vibration when stopped in Drive. Goes away in N / start to roll.

Hey guys.

I have a small vibration when I am in Drive with my foot on the brake. If I even begin to roll ever so slightly the vibration goes away completely.

Vibration also goes away when in N or P.

I should let you know I put in a new (low mileage) transfer case earlier this year. New fluids everywhere, etc.

Anyone want to give me some areas to check?

I had the same issue but "fixed" it by raising the idle slightly.
In my case, its probably slightly lower compression in one of the cylinders but it runs great otherwise so I forgot all about it.
In your case, it sounds like you simply have some physical contact somewhere from the work you did if the issue wasn't there before. If you hear a rattle, try to pin it down. Otherwise I'd ask how much time and effort you want to spend on it. My vibration was extremely mild so raising the idle worked great. But I had also gone through a full tune up (plugs, wires, air filter, etc) just to make sure all was in good working order.

Yeah I am sure my case is from the work that was done with swapping the t-case in. Think I will try to get it on a lift with it running and see if I can make it go away / find out where its coming from.

But I would assume a misfire would still happen while in park or neutral...its perfectly smooth in either of those.

Check your transmission fluid level. I have experienced what you described when I had a little too much fluid in there.

Same issue in my 99, annoying as hell, is like rumbles/vibrates and also seems to make an audible difference. I shift into neutral sometimes....
