So I got a X20 winch installed same time I got the Shrockworks bumper put in two weeks ago. This weekend, when I the car was parked in the driveway, i suddenly start hearing this loud clicking noise intermittently. Could not figure out where it was coming from. Then this morning when I go to head out, I see part of the winch rope was hanging down. It seems even when the car is turned off the winch is turning little by the little periodically causing the winch rope to loosen up. I tried the wireless remote but there was no response. But the intermittent loud clicking continued, sometimes with long gaps, sometimes more frequently.
I just got off the phone with Smittybilt support. One thing they wanted to make sure the battery has CCA of at least 650. I think the metal battery retainer strap is covering up the information and being at work I don't have the tools to take the battery strap off
Anybody knows what is the CCA for the 2015 SR5 4runner OEM battery?
I also plugged in the control cable directly and was able to operate the winch back and forth fine. May be the battery in the remote control is dead. But have to see if the clicking stops or not.
