It's not that hard to do your self. It only takes a couple of hours. As for easy of installation, I would rate it at :beer::beer: consumption during the process.
Personally, it's best to use a step bit drill for the holes and a jig saw with a new, fine tooth metal blade to cut the opening.
Regarding paying for an installation, figure Shop Rates in the Bay are probably $150 hr X 3 hours minimum, so you do the math.

What snorkel do you have?
What year rig do you have?
Do you have all the tools to get it done? Various drill bits and hole saw?

Dude, that would be an awesome video. I'm not a snorkel guy (kills power and I'm all about power) but even I would watch that.
