Snorkel Pre-cleaner?

Well Summer is officially here and that means dust. I spend a lot of time driving dusty FSR and I'm considering on order a pre-cleaner for my hilux 167 snorkel. I'm gonna try the droopie type that goes inside the snorkel elbow just below the ram air intake.

Just wondering what everyone's thoughts are on these? Have you seen or even tried something like these before?

My K&N is doing its job but if I could stop the dust before it even gets to the air box even better.

It isn't for dust, but I used a dryer sheet in mine. But that's mostly for bugs.... I'm ordering a Toyota Air Filter and I'll monitor it to see how it holds up for Alaska Summers.

Right on, ya I've got a dryer sheet in mine too. Same reason, bugs, bits of tree branches and other kinds of crud.

I've gone ahead and ordered one of these and will give it a try and post up a review or some comments once i get it in and get some miles on it.

Which did you go with? Regarding that massive donkey d!ck looking thing, it claims "Does not affect engine airflow " But I have a hard time believing that. It's two feet long and filling open space with a million small "air channels". How can that NOT restrict airflow? On a normal engine, it could be fine, but anyone with a SC.....

I still think it's a good trade off if it works and holds up over time. I would sacrifice a bit of air to make sure I have cleaner air over all.
