Who cares, if you were driving. :bigok:

I'd tell them to snuggle up cuz it would be a long drive like that.

i plan on using snowboard bags to protect them form the elements... i dont really have the $$$$$ to drop on one of those.. what kind of box do you have vando45??

Don't have one yet! We usually take my Tundra with a cap on the bed.
Looking at a Thule Ascent 1100, I think it's around $300. Anyone have experience with these?
Ruined a pair of skiis once, took them off the racks and put them away for the summer. Went to get them tuned for the next winter and the edges were too far gone to repair.

T4RUSAF...i have the burton cartels.....i think im gonna get a box i dont want to tho

Hey burton, those are what I have, the cartels are sick! I got the all gloss black ones 2 seasons back. Since then I have picked up a new setup for this season, some RIDE Spi's and a ride Timeless. The old burton setup will be my thrash/loaner board now. Looks like now is the perfect time to thrash it up on all the slush n' mud!

But for my rack my cartel's face down and my buddies C1 (burton?) and the FLOWs face up. Funny thing is, half way through last years season both the FLOW guys converted over to burtons :D And they thought that whole time I was raving about them I full of it! Nope, the FLOWs are both off now haha

Anyone have any pics? I need to get a rack for this season, since it's my first season with my 4runner. I want one that will work good, but that also looks sleek. I don't want a giant bulky one.

here you go..

Thanks for the pics. You said it's called a Fatcat? Where did you get it from, and about how much did it run you? I'm only 19 so I want to try not to spend more than $100-$150.

Those look pretty good! Looks more aerodynamic than mym thule's. I bet you don't hear them nearly as much as you do my Thules when not in use

If anyone is interested....

Costco has "Coleman" racks for $40! They look like just the rest of them.....I'm sure they'll do the job....

Same here, Cartels are best bindings I've ever rode. I had Missions prior to that and had pressure points. I need a new board though, anyone know where I can score a deal on a T6? Finally, we got a dump in NorCal--couple feet of fresh pow, going to play in it tomorrow. :D

I'm leaning towards a box as well, since I can use it if I'm traveling during the summer. Only challenge with a box is where will I store it when I'm not using it.

For the rest of you guys with ski/board racks, no issues with racks? Two of my coworkers that use them both mentioned chipped paint on their roofes with racks and both recommend a hitch mounted bike/ski/board rack combo. I looked into a hitch mount, it wouldn't hold any mountain bike very well without a traditional style frame. Got my eyes on a Specialized FSR or used Big Hit.

Everyone is getting fresh pow except for us here in southern cali. Our resorts only got "light dusting" which means NOTHING. Ugh.

yeah i got the black ones to..my setup is a burton vapor, cartels. and the hails..by the way i am selling my vapor.it is a 06 and is basically mint so spread the word and let me know if someone wants to buy it. the only reason i am getting rid of it is i want a freestyle board sellin it for 450$.....but back to the racks you basically only put 3 boards on a time? ill post some pics of the vapor if you want

Yeah my buddy rocks the vapor (05' I think) he loves it but i just can't fathom the idea of spending 700 on a board! Not w/ all my hobbies between the 4r, 954rr, and recreational BS that I have laying around. Throw that ish on craigslist, it should sell there.

No, not to confuse, I throw 4 boards on top, not three. At the time it would be the two sets of FLOWs facing up. You should post your pic here, someone might be interested. Although the Vapor is an advanced board, only a few w/ know what the vapor represents for burton.

josh220, no they don't look bad when there isn't any snowboards attached to it. But i definitely take off the rack after snowboard season.

Uneek, i hear you about the missions. they were my first bindings so i thought that's how all bindings felt. Upgraded to CO2's and my feet feel so much better. Try and find someone with a burton proform..you'll be able to pick a t6 up for cheap. did your co-workers say where the chips are coming from? are the chips coming from the boards banging on the roof or debris smacking the board and bouncing on the roof?!?! I haven't have any problems yet.

The box idea sounds good but i can't take it to work since i park in a garage with low ceilings..not fun mounting it every friday and taking it down every sunday.

Haha, cmon Josh are you kdding me? Looking at the vehicle you drive and your list o' mods in your signature you can't justify playing the "I'm only 19 so money is tight" card!

Most racks don't cost more than 125 shipped. I got my Thule 4 board rack (Model #725 I think) for 89 shipped to the house.
