They didn't. I'm going to say it's the bindings, either they didn't tighten it down or there wasn't enough clearance. One of them, I know carries 4 boards every time and he goes with 4-5 folks each time in his FX.

I have a chip on my roof by the rear cross rail when it's "not in use" position. I never used the roof rack before, but I'm pretty sure it was something that was kicked up by a big rig on my way back last season.
 
It looks like darkie3459 has an almost identical ride as mine. Good choice my friend!

I bought the Yakima Fatcat 6 because I ride a wide board and my old Thule 6-pair wasn't wide enough to fit two boards side-by-side. I haven't had to use the riser yet but it might come in handy when I need to put more than two boards on top.

I always use a thin snowboard bag to cover my board when it's on the rack. It's a cheaper alternative to a box and I don't have to worry about clearance in garages.

I like your tastes..:biggrin2: i was thinking about tinting my fronts too, at least now i know what it will look like.

yeah a couple of my friends ride wide boards and they fit side by side just fine.

yeah i can see that...just last weekend a leash from one of the boards came loose and dinged my roof. had to pull over and secure it. damn leash laws....hahaha

Exactly, it's only really neccessary for ski's or step-in bindings. It sucks when it freezes on you and can't get it to unbuckle. I really don't see why it's required for traditional bindings. Oh wells, it is what it is.
 
here is how to fit the 6 board and of the 4 board can use flow bindings. 2 of the board that are facing down use regular stap bindings.

Well I came to the conclusion that Thule racks are nasty, and too bulky. I'd rather pay extra for better quality and sleekness. I just picked up a FatCat6 from Sport Chalet. Price was $198.99 and all Yakima racks were 20% off, so it knocked off about $42.00 off the price.

darkie3495, Thanks for posting pics of yours. I liked the look of them, since they are made to be more sleek, unlike every other model I have seen.
