So I'm finally sporting my Addicted Offroad plate bumper. Not sure if I'm the first guy posting a picture showing the 2" BL gap but there it is. Yes I wish it wasn't there but I just wanted this bumper too much for various reasons over any of the others available so I made that choice regardless. I painted everything black behind it so it does at least have some camouflage.

Earlier days. Installing the 4Crawler 2" BL with new Energy Suspension poly bushings in 2016. I went with the BL after weeks of deliberation and research. I decided I wanted the tire clearance in the corners and hopefully prevent me from having to hammer pinch welds etc. I've been very happy with this modification and when I'm flexed the Runner performs outstandingly well. If I go to 35's that may bring rub but I'm not there yet and have plenty of tire life to go still before seriously considering any changes to tire size.

Glad you started a build page man. Looking good! hoto: That Savage rear bumper looks great too. Also, I am always envious of people who can fit their lifted 4runners into their garages. Maybe now that my rear 861s have settles I can squeeze it in. Hahaha. I was super nervous the other day driving into a parking garage in Seattle where it had a 6'8" clearance. My Tacoma whip antenna was hitting, so I took it down. It just made me wonder if they actually measured the lowest points throughout the whole garage.

Anyway. Look forward to seeing more of you sharp looking 4runner now.

Here is the Savage rear bumper install from December 2016. My apologies this is a repost for some that saw it in another thread but I'd just like to document it here.



Found this material at the hardware store to close the gap tha was left by losing the factory plastic trim piece.

Tire carrier

And finally a year later..... I just installed the Savage tire carrier. Prior to this mod I had originally had the factory spare tire elevator cut and welded higher up after I added the body lift. Using a 285 spare in combination with lifting the elevator up 2" I was able to wheel pretty decent and with minimal contact of the spare to the ground. But it wasn't perfect so finally I have the increased departure angle.

What's that flap thing between your body and the rear bumper? Rubber to keep dirt and stuff from flying up there?

LED Hyperflash issue

After installing the new LED turns in my new AoR front bumper I developed the hyperflash.

Thanks as always to the incredible support from the great folks here at T4R and online at YTube I was able to find the correct, best and easiest solution to fixing it. http://www.toyota-4runner.org/3rd-gen-t4rs/148900-led-turn-signal-hyper-flash-fix.html

As an added bonus the clicking sound when engaged is now more pleasant instead of the harsher tick tick sound from the OEM.

This picture is my old OEM flasher alongside the packaging from the EP35 I picked up at Autozone for $9.00. A 10 minute job. Flashers are perfect again and a softer clicking sound.

Some pictures running SRT 2017. A fairly mild trail with a few technical patches along the way. A nice run for an afternoon. Dear Valley Off-Road Trail 2017. After just having recently reopened in 2017 we hit this trail. Punishing to the point of almost not fun at the time. The gatekeeper almost stopped us and by nightfall I almost wished it had lol... Spent the night in the Runner halfway through and came out the next morning.

Thank you. All original although I recently sprayed the rear axle. After I relocated the spare tire and tailpipe her 'skirt' looked up so I hit it with some Rust-Oleum matte black automotive. I think I was just bored there wasn't really a reason to. Vehicle is spoiled as it's a California original and not DD. I also wash underneath with hot soapy water on a bristle brush fairly regularly which helps the look.
