Long story short, my truck milkshaked about a month ago. I had a guy rebuild it, replace the torque converter, and drop in a new radiator.
Right after that, my tcase was leaking. Had him do all three seals. Top seal was actually defective when he put it on, so it started leaking again right away.
During this time i periodically had the car find no gear when switching from 2-3. It would just kinda drop into neutral until I popped it into 2 or slowed down enough for it to change back down into 1 or 2.
My guy checked the valve body and said it was tight on the overdrive shaft. He replaced the valve body and I have the truck back. Don't really know wtf that means. The 2-3 shift still feels a little sloppy but I haven't had the truck fail to find third yet.
Yesterday I drove the car at least an hour in 90 degrees and it started to get a btg sluggish on the shifts. I also noticed the base of the gear selector was pretty hot, but I guess I never paid attention to how hot it was before, but does that sound normal.
Final question - my truck never used to roll back on inclines on hills. Now it does sometimes. I rolled backwards down a driveway in drive no problem - it would go as far as I let it. 15ft, whatever. Anyone experience this? Could this be from heat of the fluid and the torque converter or does it sound like an issue?
No warning lights came on and I do not have a scan gauge to know what temp the trans got up to
