Finally getting around to installing that spool I've had on my shelf.

I'm considering spending money on reduction gears for my tcase instead of regearing this year, much more bang for the buck as far as crawling goes

That was before I decided to go full retard and lock both ends. I'm done with it for awhile. I'll spend some time with the new gears and lockers doing some exploring over the next few months. Planning on 35s around tax time and by then I should have a free weekend to finish up what I started with Odessa.

Something I forgot to mention is their showroom of sorts is in Temecula they have all their seats on display so you can sit in them and check em out in person

Dude, just fix yiur rig and clean it up. Dont go crazy on the trails and enjoy the view, your wallet will thank you for it.

Hahahaha. Yeah I'll be enjoying the trails and views for the next few months while I'm recovering from this blow, but I definitely plan on finishing that trail and checking out others next spring and summer. Hey, I gotta know what she's capable of eventually with dual lockers.

So, it turns out I have a bit more damage from Odessa/Doran than I had initially accounted for... My rear link mount (where it attaches to the frame) is pretty beat up/torn on one side, mildly on the other.
I also bent my cam tab gussets (somehow?)
which means that my alignment is completely out of whack until those get replaced.
I've ordered the OPOR lower link skids fom MetalTech (https://www.metaltech4x4.com/opor-fj-cruiser-4runner-link-guards-w-hardware/), and have an appointment with Yotamasters to get those welded on next Friday. I asked about the cam tab gussets and Eric said that would probably be at least 6 hours of labor, and he'd really recommend I did it myself. Of course, that requires welding, which I don't know how to do yet.
For those who are aware of how those cam tab gussets work, (https://www.metaltech4x4.com/total-...03-4runner-lower-control-arm-cam-tab-gussets/) is this an acceptable first welding project if I were to buy a MIG welding kit rather than pay for the labor? Or maybe I just need to have someone bring a welding kit to the next mod day.... (Speaking of, you going to be doing the installation of your new parts on your own [MENTION=123332]Drunner97[/MENTION] or are you going to have a mod day at your place soon?
Since I was already ordering from MetalTech, I also picked up the rear shin guards for the rear shocks (https://www.metaltech4x4.com/07-up-fj-03-up-4-runner-rear-shin-guards/), and the little pieces to weld over my body mount chop gap, as that I'm more or less comfortable with as a first welding project since I can grind any mistakes down...
Oh, and since getting the cam tab gussets dealt with means removing pretty much the entire front tire assemblies, any other work I should look to do while I'm in there?

I should have my new gears next Tuesday and I'll be doing a mod day on Saturday to put my rig back together. Can't help you with welding though.
I hope your welds have improved since those gas can holders you gave me. hahahah.

Miah, this is my old Bronco after the one ton SAS. I think it could have made the Odessa run.
Yup thats the one Ive seen in a couple photos...definitely no issues when entering Odessa with that beast ...damn that would be fun.
