So Cal 4Runner BS Thread

I'm back from vacation in Taiwan and Japan...what did I miss?

You missed all kinds of S**t! We have flying cars for $30K, we can transport via molecular disintegration and re-integration like star trek, people live in Mars and able to breath oxygen and nitrogen base atmosphere by taking a pill and they still don't have a pill to lose weight without exercising....and then...:welcome:

Got some new replacements delivered today I went with fox factory series 3"-5" inch lifts 26.15 ext and 16.06 coll with 10" inches of travel.

Today was a good and a bad day for Lucy Pearl. The good: went to the junkyard and scored tundra calipers, rotor and brake pads to do the TBU. Floating on air with cheese smile. The Bad: Came home and saw oil leak under Lucy Pearl under the transfer case. After research it's the front seal. At least it's not a bad fix, thank goodness Bigfishallday has a great write up. I guess not too bad.

Cost me $120 calipers, rotor and pads. Ordering the caliper rebuild kit so around $140 all together. I think I made out pretty well. The cheapest I found as a kit was callahan on amazon $306. Oreilly was $350. Piecing it out was still around $300. The calipers and rotors are beefy. I should be able to stop on a dime after this. They have another set if you haven't upgraded. Lmk brotha!

Did you already buy the rebuild kit? I lost mine and ordered another, then found the first one after I rebuilt mine.

I'll pm you a little late today

Sounds good!. Also, I did the breather mod, cleaned the leak on the left rear axle and no leak so far after driving it. Hope it's just a clogged breather but good so far. I'll keep an eye on it. I got the axle rebuild parts just in case.

At least you found the leak now and not in a month while we're in the middle of the desert! I need to get started on maintenance myself and make sure everything looks solid. Commuting in the Tacoma now so the 4runner is rested up for the big trip.

Yeah man! Trying to get this maintenance done so don't have to worry too much. Got a spare cv and boot tie rod to rebuild for spare parts.

Good to get done regardless, especially on an older vehicle. Should keep you going for another 100k easy.

Chris I really like that DB Power Pro Go. sucker worked great for my vacation and didnt leak at all in the case. Battery life does suck so Ill need to get extras and a wall charger. I cant believe I forgot to change the date :sobbing:

They are great little cameras, just as good as the GoPro at less than 1/4 the price. You can turn off the date stamp in the menu. My first video with the camera also had the wrong date and time.

Three batteries with charger $15. I have two sets for the two cameras so I have lots of batteries. Turning off WiFi also lets it last a little longer. The batteries on the GoPro 4 Silver are just as bad. That's why you see me pausing or changing batteries at every stop.

might be a long shot, but do any of you have removed emblems from a 4th gen laying around? specifically looking for the "4" from the 4RUNNER badge on the back door. will trade for beer.
