So Cal 4Runner BS Thread

Yeah Mike it was super muddy and wet, puddles everywhere! Yeah tell me about it, at least I have my power washer to get most of it off! I'll take pictures of the aftermath in the street today when I get home from work. Yes it was super fun the mud and wetness gave Cleghorn a totally different dynamic (sliding down when doing the off camber decents) new pucker feeling haha.

My buddy Brian I brought out it was his first time off roading and he was on road tires lmao! He was able to do a couple of the easier off shoots. His STT Maxx tires come in Wednesday so he wants to come out to the next socal run.
Let's start thinking about setting up a december run. Always wanted to check out Anza Borrego. Throw out some ideas.

Also how was yours and Danny's trip? I saw all the pics on FB but you should post them here. It looked like you guys all had a blast! :frog:
It was blast! There's a lot of trails in death valley that you need about a month to go through it. It wasn't difficult but the history and scenery are what interests me. Food and the company what made it special. Still going through pix. I'll post some for those thinking about going. Hella cold at night right now! Saw where charles manson stayed and got caught. Saw some wildlife and the cabin we stayed at was simple but great! All in all, a must do!

Are you still thinking of doing this?!

yea but now that i've done a little bit of research, i don't think my original plan will work. it's going to be too cold out there for the equipment i have.

the overnight temps will likely be in the teens, or the twenties at best. my bag is only rated to 30 degrees.

still though, i'd like to find another location to camp out through new years if you're down to go somewhere!

Dope pics Danny! Were those shelters free for anyone to stay in?

Thanks man. Cabins are open for anyone to camp at. There's 3 right where we were at.

ok i'm a bit jelly.

are those tire tracks still at the race track? :(

Oh yeah. Very much so. We actually got rain while we were camped near Racetrack but the ground just sucks it up. It's going to take a long time for that damage to go away.

Pretty much any Desert would work really. Anza, Joshua tree, mojave, or Death Valley? I got winter gear so I'm good for anything but we can see what works for everyone.

Winter gear is key. Ask MACT4R how well they did with their "summer" gear. hahaha. I have a 30 degree bag and I was still freezing with multiple layers on.

Yay, got your synthetic! Now I just need to get stuck again so you can use it :peep:

Yeah, I'm done with the steel line. Got an awesome price from Custom Splice, almost half the price of what others charge for synthetic. Heard good things about them through some of the Tacoma Forums. Don't worry dude, you won't get stuck anymore with them meaty tires.

Sorry if I hopped in the wrong thread, but I'm looking to pickup a T4R soon.

Any dealer/sales-person recommendations?

Thanks

Where do you live?

Whoever has the model 4Runner of your dreams is the right dealer. I flew to Las Vegas to pick mine up and had a nice drive back to SoCal playing with all the new buttons and shiny bits.
