So Cal 4Runner BS Thread

Hahah, yeah I couldn't remember if it was you or Miah that was there when we were talking about it. I'd love to see Spenny 's setup too though because it's going to be more 4runner based. I have to imagine TW Spencer utilized the truck bed for some of the plumbing. Lots of empty space under there to work with.

I was thinking of something like this.

Lot of extra shit to carry, and you're already packed to the brim like I am. If I was still camping out of the Tacoma with the 6 foot bed I'd have a lot more options. If we're going to do more 4 or 5 day trips I want to get my packing/unpacking as quick and efficient as possible. Was close to my goal in DV, but now I need to figure out how to make things more organized. That's going to be my cargo box w/ drawers I think. For 2-3 days camped in the same spot I think I'm happy, it's that whole moving daily thing that gets you.

would you have it mounted somewhere (at least partially) or would you have to put it together every time you want to use it?

Yeah it's a lot of crap! One thing is I have is the second battery already. I just have to hook up another 12v outlet for the pump with an on/off switch. I already have the 5g water container. I can hang the tankless water heater outside when time to take a shower. The pain in the ass is carrying the propane tank everytime. This set up is a multiple day camping trip like we did. I won't bring it for overnight camping. I know there's other options out there that are more streamlined but I haven't found it yet. I'll figure something out.

i was thinking about either having a mount built for a propane tank for the roof rack, or instead of having jerry can mounts on a rear bumper, doing a propane tank mount instead.

oh man... what about a propane tank mount on the bumper with a metal box on the side to fit the ecotemp + water pump inside. then all you need to do is plug it in when you are camping.

they're pretty dope. either carry around a bunch of those green propane tanks or get some split fitting to run all your propane and propane accessories at once

My "plan" is to have a front runner footwell tank and put the pump in an ammo can or something/ wire it/ plug it in and have the nozzle come out a passenger when I open it - most people i know have them mounted in their truck bed, while that works great for them, I'm worried about leaks inside the 4runner.

won't be as easy as just walking up to the car whenever and washing my hands, but good enough.

Oh yeah! Got you thinking!

That's the idea I was toying with. I have a roof rack and I want to build 2 gas can, water container and propane holder. This way it'll make it easier. The pump will be inside or mount it somewhere on the roof rack and connect the wire to 12v plug in the cargo as needed. All I have to do is run the hose from the 5g water to the pump and another hose from the pump to the tankless water heater. Boom instant hot water!

YES! This is the discussion I like. Gives everybody some great ideas. I like that front runner footwell tank.

Oh I'll be finding a better way to get heated water into my water port. Thing worked great but goddamn that water was cold.

Here's a closer hook up.

MACT4R Oneluv13T4R we have strobage. Also found a more secure spot for them so they won't tear out of the headliner.

Nice! You won't tear it up unless you loose your keys again! Haha!

They're legit not coming out unless I break the sheet metal. Turns out when you pull the headliner down there's a hole on each side in the ceiling. Popped the bolts through those, cut the liner, and bolted up. They're solid now. Just need to wire the switch to the front and extend the wires for the strobe thing so I can mount it and they're done.

I remember the conversation but I'm a visual guy. I need to contact greg and see his buddies system. Once seen it's in the memory bank. Got to do research as well. Keep mixing spenny and Greg's buddy. Haha! I was a little faded!

Your not getting them mixed up that is spenny that made the comment and so does spencer gregs friend ...

Looks good 3ft away...Now walk back about 50-100 yds and take a few handfuls of dirt toss it up on the air and video it then tell me what you see as you coming in at 30-50 mph ....where did Drunner go? UURRR!! BOOOOM!! found him.

Why wouldn't you just mount all that shit up under your rig where the spare tire goes ...there's a shiiiit done of room. And mount your spare up top. I'd rather have. Tire up top than all that crap everywhere , you guys have enough crap on your roofs as it is ...which you need to clean up ..cant be having your rigs looking all sloppy in vids and pics it just doo doo's them up and I don't wanna have to crop you out of the pics ..,

HAHA!! That's is most definitely true. The only time I could see him is a glimpse of brake lights on the top, other than that dirt clouds!
