So Cal 4Runner BS Thread

Why wouldn't you just mount all that shit up under your rig where the spare tire goes ...there's a shiiiit done of room. And mount your spare up top. I'd rather have. Tire up top than all that crap everywhere , you guys have enough crap on your roofs as it is ...which you need to clean up ..cant be having your rigs looking all sloppy in vids and pics it just doo doo's them up and I don't wanna have to crop you out of the pics ..,

Seriously, I thought about it and have to find a steel tank or heavy durable plastic for a water container. I can bolt the pump under there somewhere and connect or disconnect the hose to the tankless water heater on the side of the rig... or round hose up and tuck it under as well then pull to connect to the water heater when needed.

These can hold water just as well and no thinking involved ....they are made in many shapes and sizes, are mountable or portable , have outlet and inlet, some have hoses/tubing already etc etc....hook your pump, water heater... done

Looks good 3ft away...Now walk back about 50-100 yds and take a few handfuls of dirt toss it up on the air and video it then tell me what you see as you coming in at 30-50 mph ....where did Drunner go? UURRR!! BOOOOM!! found him.

At least you'll see me RIGHT before you hit. I could barely see Spenny down in the canyon when he had his on, but they helped when I got close enough. They weren't angled very well in DV anyway, so hoping to find a more ideal angle for the people behind me. Better than nothing and I basically got the lights for free anyway.

Working on it. I'll be all nice and cleaned up by the next week long run, hopefully. Have my eyes on a couple things to make life more organized.

I'm just bustin balls ...I like where there mounted. I do know someone that you know as well speaking of Spenny that happens to have a couple of pods and a 40" light bar they have no use for...you may want to hit him up.

I'm about done with lights until I get some ditch light brackets, and then I've got a couple pods sitting in the garage for that. Once I get a front bumper I'm sure I'll be changing all my lighting up again, but this will all work for now. I may do something like you did with the LED strips though and run them along my sliders for rock lights. Maybe if those lights were on you wouldn't have been running away from coyotes? hahah.

While you all had your run this weekend picked up a new project. For less then $700, I'm happy with it.

My "plan" is to have a front runner footwell tank and put the pump in an ammo can or something/ wire it/ plug it in and have the nozzle come out a passenger when I open it - most people i know have them mounted in their truck bed, while that works great for them, I'm worried about leaks inside the 4runner.

won't be as easy as just walking up to the car whenever and washing my hands, but good enough.

Oh yeah! Got you thinking!

That's the idea I was toying with. I have a roof rack and I want to build 2 gas can, water container and propane holder. This way it'll make it easier. The pump will be inside or mount it somewhere on the roof rack and connect the wire to 12v plug in the cargo as needed. All I have to do is run the hose from the 5g water to the pump and another hose from the pump to the tankless water heater. Boom instant hot water!

so i confirmed with 4xInnovations that the jerry can mounts on the rear bumper will be bolt-on, so i can choose to mount jerry cans or mount a propane tank depending on what kind of trip i'm taking. camp trips means propane, wheeling trips mean jerry cans.

this opens up the possibility of building side box on a custom propane tank mount to include that ecoloop thing. include a 12v marine water pump in the side box and voila, insta-shower.

my bumper will include a camping table, so the stove & cooking area will be right next to the propane tank mount.

next steps: ecoloop + fridge? at this rate, i may as well live in the 4runner.

After all the upgrades, might as well. You can cook, take showers and sleep in you rig. Cheaper rent!

If it wasn't for Robbie, I'd totally live out of my rig to save up a shit ton of money. Bonus perks is hot showers in the gym at work and Walmart parking lot to sleep in down the street.

all i need is an auto-a/c for the dog, a self-storage unit and i'm good to go!

Just so there is no confusion in the future, you guys can call me "Spencer #1" and whoever this imposter from Tacoma world is anything else.

No animals other than my fish and I'd ditch that tank in a heart beat to live out of the rig. I'd get rid of so much shit and live a minimalist lifestyle for a couple years and just save a ton of money.

You would too Drunner! I can totally see that. Tiny house movement.

Any thoughts on this 4runner? I was close to picking up a new TEP when this one popped up.

Anythings to look for when checking it out?

That's pretty loaded and clean. I just can't see myself paying that much for a vehicle. I always say get the most basic you can find for what you need offroading and save the money for upgrades. But that is a beastly rig!
