So Cal 4Runner BS Thread

Some one recommend a decent fuse bus. I was looking at some blue sea blocks but am retarded when it comes to aftermarket electrical systems. Want to keep it ok the cheaper side of things only plan on running a few 12v outlets and a few lights Drunner97 your kinda smart :nerd:

Hey Al, I was in the same boat. Not too savvy about electrical but ended up with getting this one after research and talking to others. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000...e=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=10F2EK7M922BSYNJXGG8&th=1

Blade fuses instead of glass.

Mounting inside the cab or in the engine bay? I'm weary of the bluesea ones in the engine bay because I don't think they're well sealed. I have a sealed bussman in the engine bay and bluesea in the cargo area.

I'd prefer mounting it in the engine as there's a ton of room available
What's the difference between a bussman and blue sea

Bussman comes with fuses and relays already installed and setup for switches, and it's weather sealed. Also just a tad more expensive.

So would you be saving a little money in the long run not needing to buy fuses and relays? I'm having a hell of a time finding one that I think would fit my needs all the ones I'm finding are for homes. Got a link to one you'd recommend?

You'd save money by not having to buy wiring harnesses for every light you want to add by using the bussman, although the flip side is you have to run your own wiring. The bluesea is simply a fuse block that you'd be hooking your wiring harnesses up to instead of directly to the battery.

Escondido Metal Supply has good prices in their scraps of plate, but not sure what they have on hand with tubing. Worth a call if you can't scrounge any off someone you know.

Ya I've called a few places about scrap tubing it's harder to come by in the length I need, I'm trying to do this on a super small budget otherwise I would just buy some. Thanks for the heads up I'll give them a call

I got a 2'x2' of scrap 1/16" plate for 97 cents, and a 12"x12" piece of 1/8" for under $10 so they have decent prices on their scrap stuff. I never looked for tubing. I'm sure it's worth a call at least.

Where can I get a good deal on tires and what tires do I want? My ride is like 1/2 off road 1/2 on. I just got some 15x8 rims off an old Chevy.
I think I want 33x12.5R15 all or mud terrains but I'm not sure?

Can anyone give me a place on blm land to camp closest to Joshua tree for two weekends from now

Pfeiffer Canyon Bridge is damaged beyond repair. I hope nobody had any Big Sur / HWY 1 plans this year...
