Hahaha, I think I'm good for a few more hits on mine. Not quite a necessity yet. Besides I have to pay my fed taxes out of tomorrow's pay check and that's gonna cut into my mod money for a few months.

yeah... taxes will do that. i wasn't planning on picking anything up ~ forgot they are only 30min from my hometown ~ they ended up giving me a great price since i got everything all at once. i picked up 3/16 steel w/ the powder coat finish.

Nice! I got my gas skid in 3/16, but I'll be slowly replacing my aluminum skids over the course of the year with 1/4" steel. Transmission and Transfer skid are actually still in decent shape so not worried about them, but I'm doing a number to my front skid.

Hell's Revenge reminded me why i needed a gas skid ASAP. i was able to run that trail on my way out to CO ~ while you guys were at JT.

I don't remember what trail it was, but there was a 2wd locked Tacoma that did a 4wd only trail out in Moab a couple years ago at the Rock Therapy event. That's totally Miah. hahah. I'm definitely going, it's just a matter of when.

Don't know if you intended on building your truck to tackle some of the harder trails but dam it's fun. By the time I'm done with my rig and I head out there it will probably be on a trailer lol

33s front and rear bumpers and a winch should get me through most things. 35s and a rear locker will do more.

By this time next year my rig will likely be totally different( after 6 yrs of owning and wheelin it bone stock lol).
33s , 4.88s, f&r locked, duel cases, yada yada yada pretty similar to most built 1st gens you see. Wanna do a few things a little different like a flat belly, which you typically see with truggys not so much trucks. Still wanna keep it somewhat ok for the highway

That thing is gonna be a beast when you're done with it. I'm putting off the 33s a little bit longer than I wanted, but I may end up just going 35s and a regear instead at that point. Need to save up some cash for a few months and take care of the housing situation first before I do anything else major.

Well I'm sure a lot of guys are gonna say why not 35"s etc etc. I'm trying to keep it low as possible kinda going for a "sleeper" if you would lol

Solid axle doesn't need as much clearance as IFS. The 35s on my rig would damned near the same as yours on 33s. haha.
