Just head downtown! Perqs on Main Street is my favorite bar, cause of the good, local vibe. Not too many tourists except for karaoke Thurs. nights. I am vegetarian, so can’t recommend a steak place first hand but Duke’s at the pier has great food all around and the view!
There are a bunch of new places a couple blocks from downtown at the recently built Pacific City mall on Pacific Coast Highway. I have not had a chance to eat/drink at many of them. Great outdoor spaces, though.
Where are you staying and what days of the week?
your post is what the BS thread is made for! unfortunately the black watch is no longer around, that was the best dive bar in town. i don't know of any steakhouses, but check out four sons brew co. good shit! or lyft on down to costa mesa and head to gunwhale ales. 10-15m from HB, depending on traffic. they are killing the farmhouse/saison game.
downtown HB has a heavy IE bro and also 40 year old vibe to it, so unless you like flatbills and pinstripe tanktops or want to listen to jimmy buffett, stay away. maybe try don the beachcomber for drinks. i
secret spot on warner & PCH is the motherfuxking JAM, though. very nice sunny afternoon hole-in-the-wall lunch spot. get the HB surround sound burrito with whatever meat you want and blow your taste buds' minds.
Okay. . . not sure if this is too far off-topic, but this is the BS thread. . . sooo. . . gonna be in Huntington Beach a few days next week for work and need recommendations for some stuff to do in the evening for dinner, drinks, etc. . . would love to find an old school steakhouse or something like that for a night. . . fish/seafood another. . . and any low-key hidden gem dive bar recommendations would also be appreciated!
If this is too BS even for this thread, mods. . . i understand. . .
Thanks for the info . .. I'm familiar with Main St. Was looking for something kind of off the beaten path. Probably gonna stay at the Pasea . . . not 100% sure which days. . . probably Tues and Wed. . . possibly Thursday. . .
ha, sorry. you don't sound like the type of 40-smthn that hangs out on main street in HB. unless you wear baggy denim with loafers and a button up dress shirt that is one size too big for you and has a crooked silver screen print on the shoulder.Man. . .that post sunk me. . . I'm 40 something, but don't care for Jimmy Buffett. . . hahah. . . but young at heart (will probably be toting a surfboard and mountain bike along with me![]()
I got an email for that Toyota club saying a spot opened up for my 4runner. I think it's to actually be in the meet not just attend? Anyone know what this is? I have to register today for it.

Any one have recommendations on a fun place to spend the morning in Orange County?
Wife wants to go visit some friends in OC (Irvine) this weekend so I thought we'd get on the road early and enjoy the beach or something. I was thinking Crystal Cove but would be open to suggestions.
I'm excited to hear how your fridge works out. Test Rob this weekend? What's the amp draw amen it's running?First time in a long time I don't have any major issues going on. Fixed my vibration issue with a new driver side wheel bearing. Fixed my transmission rumble strip issue with a drain/refill/shudder stop. Fixed my out of balance feeling by getting rid of my stock wheels/duratracs/spacers and putting FJ steelies w/ KM2s on it. I think I'm finally good for the moment. If only my Prinsu rack would hurry up I'd be happy. Only other issue I have to deal with is drilling out a snapped bolt for my transmission skid plate and putting new hardware in to keep that in place.
