So Cal 4Runner BS Thread

I just swap in my 20 ton bottle jack that I have ...dillrod.

Yeah that would be nice to have brotha. But honestly I have two different sets of spring compressors that I use and either of those with my impact I honestly can swap out coil/springs and all put back together (shock, top hat, spring, bushings and nut) in 10 mins or less. The problem is everyone is afraid to use them, there's not a damn thing to be afraid of at all if you know how to use them!! Like anything of course but people have hyped up the fear and scariness of spring compressors so much it's funny. Especially throughout here on t4r in general. I just chuckle ...at the weenies. I looked at craigslist for some presses and didn't care what ton cause I have a 20 ton to swap but it was cheaper to have axles serviced with all the parts I already have. No leak so far!.

I rented the spring compressor from O-reilly and used my impact gun to compress. Worked like a champ and safe if you know what you're doing. I don't know what all the fear is about either.

I have a set of quality spring compressors but I will never use them again after using this method below. Tundra coils are hard as shit to compress with spring compressors and look sketchy when they bow.

Part 1

Part 2

I've re-done my front 3 times using this method and the only regret I have is not doing it sooner.

That's a great method as well especially on heavier coils. I actually saw that one before I changed the front suspension on Lola. The spring compressor worked great on lola and Lucy pearl. Both are great depending on coil rating.

Don't you need a 20 ton for bearings? Should have invested in a floor/wall mounted coil spring compressor. hahah.

16 Ton was enough for a 14Bolt pinion bearings in my "mini" press.

Putting the new one on required a few accessories.

Redneck mechanics at it's best. It worked though.

Nice now all we need is a hook up on some dom :fishing:

I've gotta a guy in Yorba Linda with 30-40 ft of it with my name on it for 2 bills that's 50% off it's what he has left over after building what he need and decided not to to build...lol but the problem with that is TK-422 bender is 1.75 and the dom is 1.5 ...so yeah we still need a homie hook up on dom. I will talk to my buddy that owns the welding/fab shop I use to work at and see if he can do anything.

Do I hear a 4th gen tube bumper with winch mount Fab day? I was set on a plate bumper, but tube is growing on me. I need clearance, hahah.

I move to Texas and now you are welding mods now? Right on you bastards! I will be back in town the end of this month. Lone Star Jamboree is popping of this weekend here. Hells yeah!

If there's going to be a bumper build mod day...I'm in! I'm always up for learning new things and a lending hand. Just say when!

Oneluv13T4R I'll gladly donate my time and Tacoma bed to haul materials for your bumper build. Lemme know.

If it can wait until Sunday I'm willing to be a guinea pig. Otherwise SoSoRunner is probably closest with a 4th gen in the 06-09 range.

Yeah we're doing it on Saturday, but Sundays are typically my free time regardless. I'm sure you'll get someone closer, but if not hit me up.

i have an '06. does the grille get to stay on my truck?

Either of you guys free on a weekday around 5pm for a fit? Wish I could let you guys keep the grille but will be needing this alpha prototype back! We can even meet up in the Lytle Creek area for a quick run and photoshoot. I'll bring the skottle and some taco fixings? ;) Looking like James in Ontario is gonna be the best bet outta you OC guys LOL
