So Cal 4Runner BS Thread

Oh, I was going to make a joke about using "the stranger" one too many times but better late than never! At least you drive an auto, I would have a rougher drive home than you with the 5 speed and 1 gimpy hand.

Hahahha. Yeah. It's not sprained too badly, but it was enough to make me go get it checked out to make sure nothing was broken. I can still drive left handed easily without any pain.

Very sweet! What coating are you going to go with?

Any plans for the rear? If you want to test them out let me know. I'm off for summer.

Matte black paint on the front. I may have the rear powder coated though because there's a lot of little nooks and crannies that I may not get paint into. Rear I'm waiting for the mobtown release. They just got materials this week and should have pictures by Friday. If it's as good as they're promising I'll be ordering next week.

Got yanked off the boulder which yanked my steering wheel. That was the thumb (sprained). It was a hell of a weekend.

Glad the sprain is not too bad. I learned from tracking my car to keep my thumbs on the outside of the steering wheel, not the inside, and have applied that to 4-wheeling too. Of coarse now that I said that I will probably sprain my thumb next time out.

You know it's funny, because I usually do too off roading, but because of the way my tires were turned I thought a firm grip on the steering wheel would keep it from yanking so hard.

Saw some sliders and bumpers sitting around. Funny seeing C4 Fabrication stuff uncoated around here, the demello stuff wasn't as big a surprise.

Anyways, seems like a decent powdercoating place. (Seven S Powder Coating in Riverside). In a week or so I'll know for sure when I get my King 14" 700lb coil springs back in candy red.

That must be the stack of bumpers I saw Monday when I was picking mine up.

I might be going the way of Drunner97 and picking up a new bumper. Pelfreybilt is having a pretty good sale on bare bumpers and as soon as I find a painting option I might cruise down to SD.

Find a powder coater. Took me 2 days to get the bumper painted and I know I missed spots. It was a real pain in the ass.

Dang I was hoping to get away with smooth bedliner as a finish and paint it myself. How much is powdercoating something like that?

I mean you can paint it, it's just a pain in the ass. The Demello bumper has a lot of little nooks and crannies that you have to try to get into where the reinforcements are.

Ryan,

Mulling over the same idea/product. A couple of coworkers have used this guy, and when I called about roof bars a while back, he was reasonable.

Debating, debating, debating, debating. There was a Gobi rack that showed up last week on CraigsList and I should have jumped on it....
