So i picked up a 97 4runner!

Whats going on guys? My name is John and I'm from New Jersey. Posted last Wednesday about possibly picking up a 97 4runner. Well i got it and so far, i love it! Its a 97 base model. Has the 2.7 5spd in it. The guy was asking $4000 and i ended up getting it for $3200. Has 178,600 miles, still not sure if i paid too much or not. Body is rust free and frame just has some surface rust that i will hit with a wire brush and treat one day soon. Needs rear shocks and tires. I got this as a winter vehicle as my other car is no good in the snow(2012 civic si). Since i've gotten it ive tinted the front 2 windows, installed avs rain guards,installed a PA system and a 55W HID kit. Also ordered the rough country 3" lift(not permanent) along with some summit racing steel wheels. Wheels are 16x8 -12 offset 4" backspacing and i got 286-75-16 general grabber at2s. Hope everything fits! Also had a nice suprise coolant leak from the rear heater core lines but i looped the system. Should i leave it that way? Also, anything else i should look for or do to keep this thing running great? Thanks a lot guys!

Nice pick up on the 4runner. I also recently added a 4runner in addition to my low (slow) Sentra.
 
Nice pick up. Price was a little high imo if its just the base and not 4wd. But i stole my sr5 i just got at $850. I also have a civic as my few times a week/good weather driver. Not a si but a 98 with ls vetc swap and some bolts ons.

Thank you for the link! I wish mine was elock but it is not. My 4cyl 5spd seems a bit anemic but i do like it for sure! get a strange smell after full throttle still gotta check it all out i guess.

Well at that price everyone's purchase will seem high! Mine is 4wd and i feel like its a pretty good deal for pricing in my area. And awesome man I've owned every honda combo you could imagine lol. GSR H22 K20 K24
 
Yeah im a die hard Honda guy. Had my 98 hx coupe for 6 years and got it bone stock. Since then it has had many changes from the d16y5 to a b18b1 now with b16 head with mild port polishing ihe hondata tuned 161whp all stock b18b1 bottom end arp rod bolts and b16 cams. Pretty good for those cams. Share a little on your Si. I would love a k20.

My si is a 2012 so its a k24. Fullrace catless header and 3" exhaust,ported rbc intake manifold,70mm throttle body,3.5" cold air intake and rdx 410cc injectors performance wise. Tuned by rs-tech made 222whp 198wtq. Best time at the track is a 13.8 on street tires. I have a full supercharger and air to water intercooler setup going on next week so we'll see what she does! Can't wait.
 
Received my lift and tires today! Just need the wheels and lugnuts to come then its off to seeing if the wheels even clear the calipers and if these beefy tires fit with this rough country junk lift. Plastidipped my emblems black today just for fun also:D
 
Nice man. My friend has a 2013 Si in blue all stock atm. I was a little disapointed in the k24 si motor. No vtec on the exhaust cam anymore and the longer stroke resulting a lower stock redline. Stikk a bad a $$ motor though. I plan to turbo my civic some day. It all takes money and until i got my 4runner it was my only transportation so being down for a few days to boost it would not have worked too well.
