In soviet russia... I got nothin'. Sad totalled 4Runners. They were probably diesels too.

^ Apparently they are widely used to document car wrecks for insurance purposes. Which is a good thing because those people are some of the most insane drivers I have ever seen. I got turned on to these videos a couple years ago- I couldnt find the original one I was looking for, but this one runs right there with it. I'll warn you now, some people get absolutely smoked, so if that stuff makes you sick, you prolly shouldnt watch.

Pretty much, courts accept it as evidence, dash cam is cheap insurance.
People drive like crazy and then trying to blame others.

Damn! That guy got LAUNCHED! He had to have died for sure. That's messed up! I'd be driving a full caged buggy if I had to drive through Russia.

I drove in russia for 15 years, 2 accidents, nothing serious though.
No one using seat belts, everyone drives on opposite side of the road and no one give a damn about safety. American drivers is a bunch of angels in comparison.
I think dash cams owners should be discounted on insurance premiums and mandatory for anyone convicted in careless driving.
Car manufacturers should build in cameras pointed 4 ways or at least front and rear, having a black box in car would be awesome.
