So this happened tonight!

My 3rd gen isn't going anywhere. Still more work to do. 5th gen is my wife's daily.

Same EXACT boat as you.. Our '14 TEP we just got a couple weeks ago will be the wife's daily. I've gotta say, I'm quite jealous she gets to drive it daily while I drive my 17 year old 3rd gen lol. Don't get me wrong, I love my 3rd gen.. It's just not necessarily built to be daily driven!

Congrats on the purchase btw!

Black is hard to keep looking good. I will concur.

I am absolutely anal about my vehicles and willing to spend the time required to keep her looking like that. Me, Meguiares and Mothers. We take good care of that stuff. :-)

I'm finding that Nautical Blue isn't a lot easier.

I don't mind daily driving mind. It's still more fuel efficient compared to my Audi. I think I saw your 4Runner over by the garden of the gods last weekend.

KDSS or standard suspension?

No KDSS. Couldn't justify the price difference. Got a pretty solid deal on this one. Was on the lot for less than 24hrs.

Yep. The clear coat on the 4Runners these days seems to be really soft that's for sure.

What I have found is keep the towels away, the chamois away and use only micro-fiber and/or air drying after washing.

These darker Toyota paints LOVE a good wax and keeping that up will go a huge way towards keeping the swirls (which will happen if you sneeze within 100 yards of a 4Runner) to a minimum.

I am a Meguiars and Mothers guy and will use either without question. Good stuff either way. But, if you corner me in an alley and I don't have my .357, I'll scream Meguiars. ;-)

I almost got the nautical blue but ended up with silver, looks clean even when dirty. My previous Toyota trucks were black. Definitely agree, black looks the best when clean but is a pain in the ass to keep clean.

I would have probably gone with silver or maybe white if they had one like I otherwise wanted. I needed 4X4 and 3rd row seating and even though this was a sizable dealership options were limited. (No pun intended.) They had one in dark grey but somehow the redwood interior just didn't look right to me with the exterior, so Nautical blue/tan leather it was.

The nautical blue is really nice. We originally wanted magnetic grey. Once we laid our eyes on the white one we had to have it. I don't really see to many white trail's around here to often.
