Can't smog a 1uz according CA. You can't swap a car engine into a truck or suv and bar it!

Yes he meant closed loop, lots of good advice in that post though. Having done THREE engine swaps, I can tell you it will cost THREE times what you budget for, and take THREE hundred times as long as you want it to. If you already have the motor, figure on 5-7K on the low end. If you did it yourself you might get away under 5K including the donor motor.

LOL... Mountains with snow, beach with surf, deserts with sand, cities with high paying jobs and 300+ days of sun a year sounds horrible, doesn't it? :thumb:

As for the swap, you can do a car engine into a truck - it has to be the same 'class' of vehicles. Light truck and cars are in the same category for this purpose (under 9k or 10k GVWR, I think?). Or just go truck 2uz...

I think he was joking, there's plenty of them on Car Gurus & Cars .com etc... There's a Salsa Red one by my local Toyota dealer with 89,000 one owner trade in. They want $15,900. I'm sure I could get it for under 15K.

ah lol someday id like to get a 4th gen, i could use the extra room. im a lil bit on the big side lol i just love my 3rd gen so much i dont think i can get rid of it.

a V8 sounds like a fun swap = but CA is the problem... smog requirements are a pain
