It seems to elude me but I know its out there, I cannot seem to find another example of a 4th gen 4runner with the stock length solo motorsports lower control arms installed. Id like to see other installs/hear from other people with some insight. Mainly for two reasons,

1. The length of the bolts used to secure the spacers to the top and bottom of the uniball are at least 1" too long on mine and protrude out of the bottom. Every installation I've seen shows that the bolt ends are neatly tucked into the control arm. Did they change the bolts? and if so why?

2. These control arms get rid of the factory steering stops. I keep hearing that the rack and pinion has integral stops and I would just like to know from others who have these control arms installed or that know a thing or two, if they've noticed anything after wheeling or just daily use. Possibly more wear and tear over time?

Unfortunately, I have no direct experience with these arms, but they definitely look different than the pics on their site.
Maybe they have gone to a stronger misalignment spacer, which uses a longer bolt.
Try to get a close up pic and post your question on Tacoma World's Long Travel BS thread. Those guys know quite a bit and some of them work in the industry.

As far as steering stops, I have a DK LT kit, which eliminates the stops also. The rack doesn't seem to have any issues going lock to lock. Only time will tell if it holds up though.

My standard series Total Chaos +2" LT I don't believe has steering stops either.

I am surprised though, of the direction that the uniball is flipped in the solo kit. On my TC kit they say to install the uniball adapter like this. But pics online show the Solo kit installed how you have it so no big deal.

I would consider taking a cutoff wheel on a grinder to the excess bolt ends if it bothers you. But I think worse case the threads get mangled on some rocks.

Edit; you might want to check to see if your wheel clears the threads when your suspension is fully compressed like in my picture.

Definitely something ill check with full bump, id hate to run into issues there at any speed. I reached out to solo so we'll see what they say about it.

Ill see what the long travel guys have to say. I'm just now noticing the difference in the orientation of the uniball housing, kinda seems like something that would be designed intentionally...so im curious.

But, I got curious and took a closer look this morning with some editing software.

The close up pic on the Solo page shows the head of the Allen thru bolt. On your pic the head is barely visible. Different angle of pictures, but I would think yours would be sticking up a little higher. Is it possible the spacers got mixed up? Like [MENTION=130999]Inv4drZm[/MENTION] mentioned, the bolt might not clear the rim on the bottom at full compression.

I was thinking along the same lines, but I didn't put too much thought into it because of the fact a well known and trusted shop installed them. I'll have to take another look tomorrow morning, but I'm a little skeptical about the top spacer even being installed in the first place. I hope that's not the case.

You ever have one of those "aha" moments that feels more like a "stupid, should've been the first thing you checked"? Because that's where were at now. I checked this morning and lo and behold, the top misalignment spacers are missing...just were never installed.

I would hope this could be fixed correctly by contacting the shop, but that has to wait till monday. fingers crossed
